“Let me tell you this place was very good I came 2 times in a row, we came from Texas to a preaching campaign in this town and we decided to go here for lunch both days because it was that good. Everything was fresh and very yummy from burgers, onion rings, cheese curds, everything was delicious the pies, and the most important was that the staff was super sweet and welcoming it’s a family restaurant so that tell you a lot. Definelty coming back when we are in the area.”

“We came in right at closing time, and the women working there were as welcoming as if had been the middle of the afternoon when they had nothing to do. They made. a vegan wrap for my daughter, and the rest of us got drinks for the roadEverything was excellent, the store is neat and cutely decorated, and the staff was super friendly. I would go out of my way to stop by there again. If I lived in Effingham, I would be a regular. No big city coffee shop has anything on this place. Take a detour off the freeway and check it out.”

“Picked up donuts through the drive thru window and got the assorted dozen. It's been hard to find really good donuts here in central Illinois, I've relocated from northern Illinois where there are a lot of great bakeries. These donuts were great and reminded me of what I missed up north. Fluffy, fresh donuts...YUM!!!”

“Came to visit Effingham for the first time just a random day trip. This place was on my to go list. The drink prices are pretty cheap, the only downside to that was some of the patrons that appeared to be regulars were way too drunk, no such thing as inside voices. They yelled at another another which was a tad bit annoying...cursing like pirates. The gaming room/area wasn't as big as I'd like it to be.. maybe like 6 chairs elbow to elbow. They had a dj, the music was good..overall I enjoyed myself outside of the yelling. Id be willing to try it out a second or third time. Oh and yes I won some monies.”

“I recently tried the butterscotch honey latte with oat milk to get something I haven't seen at other coffee shops. It was amazing and I'm so glad I stopped by! Staff were super friendly and fulfilled my request of making the latte as hot as possible.”

“We ate here for the first time a week ago and had an awesome experience and awesome food! Hubby had the char broiled pork chops and I had the beer battered walleye. Both were excellent! We went at 5pm on a Friday so not too busy but the atmosphere was wonderful. People playing pool, music playing, people visiting at the bar. We will definitely b back!”

“I love Joe's in Effingham! We eat there a few times a month. They have good Gluten Free pizza. The gluten full is delicious too? But i sadly shouldnt eat it anymore. I also love the chef salad. It's huge! I can get at least 2 meals out of it. The pasta is good too. Sweeter sauces make me a big fan of this place.The service is amazing. Friendly serving staff who have been there forever. I'm not related to or friends with anyone at Joe's. I really appreciate their food and service!Parking: Can be hard to find parking if at meal times but you usually can park across the street in the museum lot. “The place has been around and popular way before I was around. This place was a big thing when my mom was a kid and young adult and the same goes for me too. I would come and play pool during the day and drink kiddy cocktails and eat blooming onions. It was a blast every time. Now on the occasion my child comes to hang out and do the same. Childhood memories here. Will never forget this place.Kid-friendliness: Only during the day time hours on week days.”

“This place is like an Effingham institution it is a mom and pop it's been around for a very very long time and it's still the same it's the only place in town where you can get a personal Pizza salad bar and a drink for $11 and it is the best pizza in town I don't care what anybody says and you can fight me on itVegetarian options: There are pizza crust is vegan for sure and you can get all kinds of vegan options on your pizza and their salad bar has definite vegan options on it as wellKid-friendliness: It's a mom and pop so all kids are welcome”

“Had the tacos de asada(told not to add cheese): great flavor come with a tortilla chip bowl filled with a cup of refried beans with cheese on top. The beans had great flavor, but the cheese had the flavor of cheap cheese almost like the one from WIC.”

Most importantly, the amazing food quality and the top-notch service is the best in Effingham! Everyone working at the restaurant inside the hotel are super friendly! “Stopped here for dinner while in town for an evening stop-over. Traditional hibachi restaurant with a sushi bar / hibachi room / regular table room, etc. We chose the hibachi seating and ordered the hibachi meal and a couple of rolls. I ordered the volcano roll and the shrimp tempura rolls. These were good - but the rolls never come out how they are described to me. Anyway - hibachi was standard, the yum yum sauce was on the orange side but tasted good. What did impress me was the salad dressing. Was a white creamier sauce rather than the pulpish yellow dressing that I am used to. Overall - very good. Staff was friendly and attentive as well.”

“This is the best take out Chinese restaurant in Effingham. The lunch menu is available all day; you just have to ask for it. I've purchased from here for about 15 years and have never had any problems with the orders, the food quality, or the timeliness! It is only take out, no seats for dining in.Parking: The nearby bank is not friendly toward other businesses using their parking lot, even after hours. There are limited street spots, but they are free.”
