We ate at Bill's for the first time because I saw the good reviews. This is not a fancy, yuppy, uptown place to eat. Understand that. It is a tiny diner that will transport you back 100 years to small town America. But I'm telling you, if you don't care about atmosphere, and just want a damned good cheeseburger cooked on a grill in front of you for a cheap price, or a luscious milkshake made out of real ice cream, hand dipped and put in a stainless steel cup to eat with a spoon, and just a simple conversation with the workers behind the counter and a friendly, "have a wonderful day!" as you walk out the door, this is your place. They are friendly and just want to cook you good, diner food just the way you want it right in front of you. Nothing fancy, just good. You won't leave hungry or unhappy. There's no vegan menu or cocktails...go elsewhere. It's the same as it was 90 years ago when it opened. It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week no matter what. The cheeseburger was the best I've had in years. I'm vegan, but just had to have a good ole burger. They are huge, so I would suggest the small or regular size unless you're a football player with a huge appetite. They also serve breakfast all day. I didn't have the omelette, but watched one being made and it looked fabulous. Go here if you are in town and just want good old fashioned diner food. There are very few seats, so don't go during the lunch rush or you might have to get it to go or eat at one of the picnic tables outside. To find it, plug in the police station...it is next door. It is off the square.

One of the best hamburgers in Central Illinois. A small ( seats about 15 people) 24 hour diner in Taylorville. My usual breakfast is bacon and eggs with toast and a 1/2 pound cheeseburger. Delicious!

I waited 25 min. for a burger. The place was empty. I don't like being called "buddy". Staff was completely unprofessional on this day.

Guest 1 = biscuits and gravy, w/slice of hamGuest 2= 2 eggs scrambled, w/ gravy on top& Wheat toast.Employee brought 2 scrambled eggs with ham out. ( we told her what was wrong/ and missing) so they finally get our order corrected. And the gravy is cold. ( I mean never even heated cold!) When we ask for them to microwave it, employee takes our plates and Rolls her eye's, walks away in a huff.We have had great experience here before, but very disappointing today.

Everybody says “great drunk food”. Agreed. BUT it’s more than that. You CAN get that- greasy, cheap, fast, and filling- perfect great “drunk” food lol. What we got though was great quality, great service, pleasant plating, plentiful servings good pricing and overall just a great experience. Highly recommended and will be back. Great job ladies!
You can taste decades of flavor from the griddle in the burger patties. You'd be missing out if you are in the area and don't stop by.

Tamara is the most professional person that I have EVER felt with. When she found my fellow colleague has never been to Bills Toasty, she made sure that she got the best milkshake, other than plain boring chocolate. Great time, and once again, very professional. Sincerely, three college kids who drove over an hour away for cheeseburgers
