Every time we come to this location there is a problem. We drive thirty minutes to eat here. Tonight we sit here waiting and had to place our order on the kiosk because no employee came to counter to greet us or take our order. It’s 730 pm and they have all chairs up on table like lobby is closed and still have not even acknowledged that we walked in.

This was my second one. Bun as hard as a brick and cheese wasn’t melted. First was had mustard and tomato and ask for plain. Hamburger was only half of the bun. We will not be back and will definitely let everyone know. Taylorville IL

First off I used to work here about 2 years back so I know my order was easy. Ordered a Frisco meal and a extra burger with ketchup, Mayo, onion. Got pulled up to wait when we were the only car there. The meal came out right but you couldn't even tell the extra burger came wrapped. It was like I ordered grease with a side of burger. The wrap was completely soaked thru with grease let alone the burger being covered top to bottom in pure grease. Not only that but then they didn't even get the burger right. Just ketchup and mustard on it. Didnt want to start anything in the store so I'll just write this. This place has lost a lot of good workers and just keeps going downhill. It's honestly pretty sad.

Sorry to do this but did a mobile order, walked into store and there are kids everywhere running around yelling. Im standing in front of the cash register for 5 minutes, guy comes out from the back to take a drink from a soda sitting on counter, just looks at me and says nothing. I tell him I'm here for a mobile order, he yells to a lady in the back, she brings it to me, without my drink. I pour my drink, get in car and take the sandwich out and it has the wrong bun on it. Ordered double butter steak burger and it had the normal cheap bun on it. Burger didn't taste right.

I can’t begin to tell you how distressed I am about how a family member was treated at Steak N Shake in Taylorville, IL. My cousin came home for a “farewell tour” to see family and friends after a long battle with stomach cancer. They’ve given him a matter of weeks. He had checked out of his hotel, and due to an unexpected change of plans found himself with about 45 minutes before I was to pick him up to take him home to Tennessee. He does look rough, and the cancer has caused a massive weight loss. He was carrying a bag. I get it. He looked homeless to the manager. However, even operating under that assumption he should have been afforded decent human dignity. He went in and ordered a burger and a large drink. He ate, and went outside to wait and enjoy the sunshine. He then realized he should use the facilities as I was nearly there and we were hitting the road. He stepped back inside, and they refused him access to the facility after having just finished what he says was the worst cold, dried out burger he’s ever had to choke down.
Do better Steak N Shake! This put a huge sour note on what was otherwise a nice trip and send off. Oddly enough, they’ve never denied me access to use the restroom, so it’s not about whether you purchased anything or not, because he did and I didn’t. It’s discrimination.

Food was just plain trash and I ordered simple stuff a 8 year old could prepare better save your money and go elsewhere however definitely don’t go to Wendy’s either they are also trash. It’s a shame
