We moved away from the area years ago, but when we go through Taylorville in the summer, we always make a point of running through Tastee Treat. Their soft-serv is excellent, in particular the lemon, which many places either don't offer or get the flavor wrong. Malteds are outstanding as well. And to get a Chicago dog at 1/3 the cost of Portillos without sacrificing flavor is fantastic. Great little place.

Staff, variety, & treats all phenomenal. Super cute establishment with lots to offer. Staff kept taking care of drive thru instead of walk up customers so took about 40 minutes to order & get ice cream, but overall, pleasant experience. highly recommend. Can't wait to return.

June 2, 2024 Tastee Treet has always been a hometown favorite. During the month of June they have my favorite soft serve, key lime and lemon twist. No longer living in the area it had been six years since I had been able to enjoy my June favorite. We planned our trip back to Taylorville so I could enjoy one. They had the Keylime available and the lemon but not the twist yet. The girl was kind enough to improvise and stack lemon, key lime, lemon, key lime.They have a large choice of sundaes, shakes, malts, F5's which is like a Blizzard, only much better. They have flavors of the month. A well known local establishment loved by many. If you haven't been there, you are missing out..
Love the flavors of the month! Getting in and out can be tricky. Location is a little tight for all their business.

Waited in line for 45 minutes, one employee sitting on phone the entire time not helping out while others are super slow and fairly rude. The ice cream is good but for the time and clear management failure, it just isn't worth it anymore. Management really needs to work on efficiency and work ethic here.
I waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes to get up to the window for them to tell me they couldn’t serve people anymore. 20 minutes before closing. If there was some type of issue, they could have at least come out and let the people know waiting instead of making us wait even longer to get to their window to tell us this. I would have completely understood, things happen. This just shows terrible service. I try to always support local businesses but not ones with terrible service.

Great place for icecream, terrible work environment, I don’t blame the kids for long lines or un-blended icecream, this is all the owners fault by not buying actual cups they can mix the icecream with, in the blenders without breaking,(this would also make the line move faster if icecream wasn’t mixed by hand for every customer and not hiring enough people to work.)she doesn’t throw away expired toppings and still gives them out to customers (literally the peanuts and pecans have mold) she also picks favorites and doesn’t treat her employees very well
