“Great choice of 40 craft beers and ciders on tap and a well stocked bar. Most of the beers on tap were $6.00 for 12 ounces, the higher alcohol content, 8-14.6 % were $9-10 dollars for 12 ounces. Great music, friendly staff with good knowledge.“
“The hounds rest used to be the blind pig. The new ownership has done a fantastic job keeping the local charm while making tasteful updates. The aesthetic is old English and it's on point.
I can't say it enough. I love their support of local breweries and the community. They participate in so many events and even host events. I consider this bar whenever I want a night out or just a quick drink with friends.“

“Seen the Blind Pig Brewpub across the street from our hotel, and so we decided to go there. We were greeted by the bartender, “Chewy”, who did an excellent job serving us. We did not know that the gentleman sitting next to us was Matt, the owner. Matt was super-friendly, and even let us sample beers while explaining the history of the brewpub, and telling us about the new beers that are coming out soon. Mesa did a good job as well describing all of the deserts they had. Everybody was very friendly here, and we were very impressed.. Both the food and beers here were simply outstanding.! We highly recommend coming here for a visit, and will definitely be back!“

“It's a nice bar. They have taps to pour yourself beers or get a nice cocktail. They have a variety of selections for beers and cocktails. The atmosphere is a very nice place to come with friends and family. They don't have a kitchen though. If you're planning on having meals here, you have to bring it from somewhere else and that's a nice thing, I guess. Overall, this place is very nice. I enjoyed it.“
“I've been in this charming dive bar before, and always enjoyed myself, but last weekend I saw a band there for the first time. Local band Decadents completely entertained the packed venue. I had such a great time! The bartenders were awesome as well. Looking forward to more live music here.“
“Went here during the summer and it had a very relaxed atmosphere, exactlywhat I was looking for in a hookah lounge. It is pretty barebones except for a few couches and booths. The staff might be the best part though. The guy we had was a great story teller and was on the ball when it came to adjusting coals.“

“For the type of bar this is, I rate 5 stars. I absolutely like the food here, and I’m here regularly on Fridays for Xtreme Bar Bingo. There’s also a couple of bartenders here that are awesome at what they do!
Prices of food is right where it needs to be! Good place to hang out, eat, and play bingo on Friday nights!

“Centrally located, affordable prices, decent selection of food, and everyday has a different drink special - it doesn’t get better than this for a campus bar. Don’t forget to ride the rail!
Highly recommend the fish sandwich. It’s weird to recommend seafood in central Illinois, but trust me, it is so good. Service can be a little slow when they get busy, but I can’t fault them for that. Know how to get the bartenders attention and you’ll get your drink no problem. Overall a great campus bar.“

“I NEVER leave reviews, but….. Teresa!! Best Bartender in all of Illinois!!! ☀️ We drove 4 hours to surprise her for the Super Bowl, after not seeing her for 1 1/2 years!! We made a special trip from Wisconsin🦡🦡 (Land of “A bar On Every Corner” ) just to get a few cold beers, cocktails, and hug from her!!! She’s the Bar Angel!! She not only remembered us😉, but she remembered what we drink! Now that’s a pretty darn good bartender!!! 😊😘 (she should probably get a raise! 😁) Thank you!!“
