I used to live down the street from the Glenwood location and we ate Arrenellos Pizza all the time. I LOVE the sweet sauce. I now live in Fort Worth and make it a point to go get Arrenellos pizza anytime I go back to Chicago and if I have to, will bag it and bring it home in my suit case! Great blend of flavors with the sweet sauce and the outstanding sausage and cheese. Rich has created a Chicago legend in my tastebuds! Just wish I could get it shipped on a regular basis because there is NOTHING like it here in Texas!

The sauce was plentiful and sweet. The takeout person stated they had no menus to take home at the counter. (Menu is online but for many reasons having these paper menus to request is a benefit). Overall the pizza was 7/10 for taste. The issue is the price and the structure. For a chicken Caesar salad (very little chicken) and 3 topping family sized pizza (half tomato&onions and half pepperoni). The bill was $54. They charge full price for topping used on half the pizza. The majority of pizza establishments charge half for half. The price dictates the expectations, in part. If we were professional food critics, it would just be about the food quality. But on Yelp and Google, it is common people who have budgets and choices. Yelp puts 3 points up for reviewers to try to touch on: food, service and ambience. I add a fourth, Value. The pizza here was a 7/10. The value was a 3/10.

We are currently living in a hotel do to repairs in our home, so we ordered here tonight. First & foremost the gentleman who answered the phone & took our order, very friendly and didn’t make you feel rushed like alot of pizza places do when you place orders. I forgot we had no plates so I called back & asked for some, he stated they didn’t have plates but he would surely send me something over. When we got our food there was a bag with napkins and those fry boat/plate things. Soooo kind of him! & the pizza was amazing, hot & fresh! 10/10, thank you so much to that man. The delivery driver was also very nice.

Excellent thin crust pizza! They use a sweet sauce, which is amazing, and the pizza was cooked perfectly. They are a little on the pricey side, but it was worth it. We'll definitely be going back again!

It's a shame because they used to be my favorite pizza spot. Customer service is awful. Call today, most of the time a place will say please hold, but all I got was hold and listened to background noise for a few minutes. Heard another phone ring and somehow that guest got to place their order right away. After waiting several minutes I tried to place my order and when I said delivery was asked to hold again. After another minute or so was told they only have 1 driver and 8 orders and if I want delivery it will be "a few hours". No sorry, no sincerity you would expect from a small business, and to be honest a bit of attitude. It was a fun run over the last several years, but I'll move on to somewhere so appreciates my business.

I have been going to Arrenellos since they opened in Glenwood in 1972. It is by far the best pizza in the Chicago area and I highly recommend trying it. You won’t be sorry!
