We were warmly greeted by Chelsea when we arrived. We were seated at a cozy table toward the back of the restaurant. Frank Sinatra music was playing in the background. Our waitress Melissa brought us water to the table with the days specials. There is a good wine & cocktail selection. We started with the shrimp & calamari along with truffle fries for an appetizer. The shrimp & calamari were cooked perfectly while seasoned with the right amount of oil and garlic. The truffle fries garlic aoli sauce was very good, not overpowering. For dinner, we had chicken parmesan served with penne pasta as the side. The portion size was big. The chicken was cooked well, not overloaded with sauce and the right amount of cheese. The other dish order was the risotto of the day, shrimp & grape tomato. Highly recommend the risotto. It was cooked perfectly with big delicious shrimp mixed in with the risotto. As delicious as it was, room was being saved for dessert. Not many restaurants serve flourless chocolate cake, but Frankie's 1988 does. It is served with a carmel sauce, pecans, and vanilla gelato. I have had many flourless chocolate cakes in my life, and none compare to the one made at Frankie's. It is dense, almost like dark chocolate fudge that just melts in your mouth. They also have canolis, tirimisu, and an assortment of gelato. The staff was so nice, checking on us throughout our dinner, ensuring we were never out of water. Frankie introduced himself to us as we were leaving. We had to tell him how amazing the risotto was today. Frankie said that their kitchen is a scratch kitchen and will gladly make items not on the menu if the kitchen has the ingredients. Frankie's 1988 is a 5 Star restaurant nestled in a strip mall in Tinley Park.Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.

We have eaten at Frankie’s regularly over the years and the food is always outstanding. I used to shy away from Salmon at restaurants due to the “fishy” taste. Frankie has a great Salmon dish and it is now a must if we are not having pasta. My wife often gets the mussels and is always happy with her meal.

Frankie's is our favorite place to go for dinner and we cater from them all of the time. Angela has done an impeccable job with the design. And Frankie makes it so personable every time we go there. The pair of them make this place feel like family. The service is top-notch! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing!

Great service. I was disappointed in my short rib rigatoni. Meat was tough. Bread is no longer served. Instead they give you small pieces in your meal. The old Frankie's fine dining experience will be missed. It is more of a swanky bar food feel

Our server Karen was a delight! She made great conversation and involved everyone at our table. The dining experience, including the food and plating, was superb as always. We love coming here and can't wait until our next visit!

We love the new vibe and concept at Frankie's! It's definitely different from the fine dining element, but has a great upbeat vibrant atmosphere! The food and service are the best around! Frankie, always around to say hello and make us feel welcomed. The pizzas which is a new addition are PHENOMENAL! We had the margarita and tartufo mushrooms for an appetizer! Wow! So good. My basil martini as just as delicious as I remembered. Well done Frankies!

Frankie's is my “Cheers bar”. Always run into friends/neighbors. Great Italian restaurant and Frankie makes you feel like your family. Always amazing food and service! We had the bacon dates appetizer and they were so delicious. Hoping they add that to their menu.

Food and service are top notch. We have been here about a dozen times. Our server was Alex, she was outstanding. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and my wife had the cheese gnocchi with vodka sauce. Both were delicious and very fair prices. We are trying the pizza tomorrow. I would highly recommend!

Once again never had a bad meal the pork tenderloin stuffed sausage was outstanding. Cauliflower soup was excellent and could have had more. Overall great way to celebrate my wife's birthday

So very disappointed that Frankie decided to do away with his original, fine dining venue. We always chose Frankie's when we wanted an upscale night out for dinner. The revamped Frankie's1987 was a far cry from fine dining; more like eating at a modern, expensive, fast food pizza restaurant. It's designed to fit maybe River North area; modern, loud and not the place for us. Pizza was not our intention last night; we were hoping for the old Frankie's that always had delicious options and atmosphere. Sorry he decided to do away with his original Frankie's. The menu options had some things other than pizza. If you want bread at your table, that's an additional charge. The small table we sat at was a joke. I faced a blank green wall and the mood lighting was can lights that def need dimers on them. So sad, but wish him the best in his new endeavor. Unfortunately, our first visit will be our last.

My wife takes me here every year for my birthday and Veteran’s Day. Today was her birthday so I jumped at the opportunity to schedule a reservation before she had the opportunity to mention where she wanted to eat. Not only has every aspect of Frankie’s gotten better every time we have eaten here, but since the renovation and addition of the pizza oven, there is no reason to eat anywhere else. Since coming home from combat in 2008, I have looked for a place that not only serves actual Italian food, but serves legitimate Italian pizza. Let me break it down for you: if you think you know what an orgasm is, and then actually have one where your legs forget how to work and you go cross eyed, that’s what Frankie’s has achieved with their pizza. I’ve had Italian pizza overseas, the real thing. Frankie’s added that little extra love and brought the best of the best to their location. I love my wife, everything she has put me through, but if laws change and I can marry a pizza, sorry babe, but you’re getting divorce papers. (I’ve been with her for 10 years and she is the love of my life. I wouldn’t leave her for the world…. But babe, I’ll leave you for Frankie’s pizza.) I never thought that after 15 years of looking for the real thing, that I would find it. But now I know it exists here. Pretty sure I’ve found the only reason to live in Illinois.Thank you to the entire Frankie’s Family!(If you see me on ‘The Next 48’…. My wife did it.)Aaron
