Everything you would want in an ice cream shop. Ice cream is great, with a lot of different options, your local neighborhood kids working. Families after a little league game. There's plenty of seating and places to hang out while having a tornado

I’ve been coming here since I was a child, everybody is always so nice. Great ice cream at a great price.
“It takes months to find a customer and seconds to lose one.” That quote perfectly describes the situation that had happened today. My sibling and I were planning to have a nice treat on such a perfect day for one. I originally started with 20 bucks. Everything was actually going pretty alright, but this older man got my order wrong. I asked for a THREE SCOOP peanut butter cup, but for some reason he heard a one scoop? My father heard me correctly however, and tried to kindly address this. When he said I wanted a three scoop— NOT A ONE SCOOP— the older man wrote down a two scoop along with the one scoop he originally wrote down. I wasn’t paying for three ice creams. I was paying for two. One for me, and one for my brother. I didn’t know what to say, and barely had a chance to when the older guy started yelling at my dad. They started arguing. My sibling and I had to watch in terror as the older man told us to get the hell out of there, without our ice cream or my money. I could have swore I was shaking. Eventually at the second window they proceeded to argue with my dad sticking up for me. I shouldn’t have came out with 4 bucks. I should have came out with around 10 bucks. My brother wanted a slushi. A large slushi is $3.99. A three scoop peanut butter cup is $5.99. When me and my sibling finally got my ice cream we saw a TORNADO COME OUT THE WINDOW?? That was straight up unprofessional work!!! And when we were about to leave, he mocked my dad’s work uniform and told him to “get some long pants.” And when I tried to speak, the older man shut the window on me. I think my ice cream was spiked too? I keep on seeing these chalky blue bits. I don’t think I’ll be allowed back here by myself.

What an experience whether the older gentleman is the owner or not he needs to sit back and let someone else take the orders. He just ruined and scared my 13-12 yr old kids whiteys experience. He first got the order wrong then proceeded to fix it but did it the wrong way. He wouldn’t let me explain nothing, he was just screaming and hollering at me that he wasn’t stiffing my daughter which she did pay for their order. Great example to show young children. I loved coming here and my kids but never again would I spend another dollar at this run down establishment, on top on him ripping my daughter off he then was insulting me. Great character to have working there especially in a children’s environment, all he had to do was give the money back for the one scoop then let my daughter pay for what she originally ordered which was a 3 scoop. Then we were being served a third item we didn’t even order. The old man doesn’t belong working behind the window period. Because my daughter clearly said three scoop and I even corrected the order before it was even made… lower your ego some old man and just admit you were wrong…. You guys make great money during the summers months but I’ll be sure to never recommend this place ever. To sum it up thanks for stealing from my daughter and thanks for showing my kids how to treat people even though you were wrong the whole time.

So there was me and my dad and my sister order a melon slushie and a 3 scoop peanut butter cup but this old man said 1 scoop and then tried to scam my sister for her money because we only got 4 dollars back but we should of got more back and my dad was complaining and he was screaming at my dad but the owner which is the old man said we payed for one scoop and 3 scoops but what for cause we didn’t get the other scoop but then he said wear some long pants to my dad because he’s making fun of the long shorts he has to wear for work. I’m pretty sure he’s the owner but he shouldn’t because what happened today was crazy he was screaming at my dad and scammed my sister for her money and said we won’t get our ice cream until the nice lady in there gave it to us pls get the old man fired he always screams at people

It’s 2024 who doesn’t accept card? Waited in the long line just to get to the window and see the smallest note saying cash only.

These are great people doing a great thing for the community...keeping a tradition alive. People there stayed open late and still served everyone, don't see that anymore. Will continue to support this great place! Cheers!!!

Awesome and Quick!!!
Shakes were fine but the cotton candy ice cream tasted freezer burnt. I threw my ice cream away. Cheap prices though
I love Whitey's Dairy Palace! A Tinley Park summer staple.
