A new brewery in Tinley Park that opened up in an old historical house. It's a very cool, unique setting for a brewery (or any type of bar/restaurant for that matter.) There's lots of cool pictures hanging on walls, and it was to just explore the house a little bit. They have a full food menu, and then a handful of their own beers on tap, as well as some guests taps. I went with some friends for Sunday brunch. In addition to beers, they also had other staple drinks like bloody marys and mimosas. We split several apps- the jerky (very moist and good) the papas bravas, the chips and dip, and a flatbread. All were tasty. I also had 3 of their beers, the prop 65, slap on the wrist and the sods law. They were pretty good, not my favorites, but they're also still new so hopefully as time passes they'll have some new beer options. They also still don't sell any to-go, either in cans or growlers, but again still new, and the bartender said they will eventually. Overall, still very much checking out, just for the house, and the food is very good, and it's always nice trying some new beers. Good to see a cool spot like this open up in Tinley.

I had a private event this past weekend and everything was fabulous. From the moment I showed interest Mary Ann worked with me and was always very responsive. The day of the event the staff was extremely attentive and the food was delicous. I received a lot of compliments about the food and everyone found the atmosphere and history of the Vogt House interesting. Would highly recommend.

We hosted a baby shower for 40 people at Banging Gavel. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was set-up exactly as we had requested. The event coordinator, Mary Ann, was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. She was readily available by both text and email and was present at the event to ensure that the day was executed flawlessly. The food was served Buffet style. We selected Brisket, Reuben, and Beef mini sandwiches and 2 Flatbreads. All menu-items were flavorful, hot, and delicious. The serving size per guest was large. The Mimosa Bar remained well-stocked throughout our event. Fruit-skewers and several juices were stocked on the Mimosa Bar. The servers provided attentive and prompt drink service. Table-top drink cards were printed for us that listed the available beverages for our event. We were able to customize our drink offerings when we selected our buffet options. We had guests with Gluten-free and Vegan dietary needs and these special requests were handled perfectly. Our guests raved about this venue. It comes with my highest recommendation!

Not a bad experience, but a bit disappointing. Very nice room and cool old building. Pretty decent menu and food was interesting, but not exceptional. IMO a brewery-affiliated pub should have their beer front and center, but it was really underwhelming. (yes, we tried all of them). Service was efficient, but seemed like it was in the script from corporate. Not in a real hurry to go back.

The outside of the building is so special and the patio looks fabulous - but inside, the energy and vibe is really muted. Likely dictated by the historical committee, the interior sections are choppy. The foyer area has an outdated event poster and dangling cords...The restaurant section was empty for Saturday lunch. We didn't get any of the "banging gavel (law?)" or brewery vibe - the atmosphere is in need a much stronger aesthetic. The bar-instead of cozy-is cramped and all you can hear are voices... (you could be at any other bar in any other town). The blinds were partially down making it feel even more hemmed in. Service was fine; friendly but lacking finesse. Food was amazing though...but we'll wait to go back when the patio is open.

Went here for the first time over the weekend. So, so charming and unique! I love that there are 2 floors to explore. Great ambiance. This is a perfect date night spot. I had some fun, tasty cocktails. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the prices are fairly high, similar to what you'd find downtown in Chicago.

Always love coming here. Every single thing on the menu is delicious and freshly made. The menu is constantly changing to keep up with seasonal items and to keep things fresh. The cocktails have a reinvented twist on classics. The beers are tasty. The staff here are so nice and attentive. So glad to have this special spot in Tinley.Vegetarian options: A nice selection of vegetarian options.
