My boyfriend and I were both working in the same area so decided to grab lunch! Connie’s was the closest so we decided to go there. The food was so good! Prices are great. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly but we all have our days so won’t complain too much about that. The lady that cashed us out was very friendly though! Will definitely be back.

Came across this place on our trip to French Lick. All other restaurants were closed due to being Labor Day weekend. Entire dining room was packed. We sat and waited for quite a while before our drinks were served. Overall, they were swamped due to above, but provided good food at inexpensive prices!! A true gem!

Got two Walleye Dinners on a Friday night. Tasty and fresh beer battered fish, best slaw I've had in a long time, good fries, great service, clean rest room.

Knowing that we would stop at Toulon, I called this restaurant in advance and happened to talk to the owner Connie. She was very friendly and explained to me the new hours of the restaurant, and told me about their Wednesday special (it was Taco Salad). In a few minutes we stopped at 115 W Main St. The street was totally deserted, it was lunch time, and there were three customers in this restaurant. I was the fourth. I was greeted by owner Connie - a very amiable and patient lady - and told her, that my friend's waiting for me in the car, we are not hungry yet, and so how about just ordering some drink to go? She said, they didn't have much, but maybe I could order their lemonade? I did. Whilst I was waiting - I looked around, took a few photos. The waitress asked me, why I am taking photos - I explained to her, why. I also talked to two upper middle aged farmers, who were also waiting, but for their lunch to be served. The farmers were very polite. I asked them about the situation with farming , since it is undoubtedly a farming area. They explained to me, that things are improving, but slowly, and that has to do with very heavy rains lately and with the pricing of agricultural products. But we hope for the better, they said, quietly, but firmly. I didn't mind waiting - the whole place was neatly arranged and decorated, partially in a communal, rural style. I've never been to a restaurant like this - and in a small town like this - before. Finally, came out the lemonade in a large, plastic cup to go. The lemonade was chilled and had a very deep, bright green color. I paid for it and left a tip, thanked the owner and the farmers. A lady sitting at the table by the door, who was having her lunch, got up and opened the door for me. I thanked her and said Good-bye to everybody, leaving them all in silence. It was like a scene from some movie: that subdued, unusually calm ambiance in the dim-lighted restaurant -- and deafening silence in August heat outside. Not a single person around. In the car I tried the lemonade. I don't know much of these types of drinks, but this one was probably homemade, and it tasted heavenly, lasting me for quite some time, and it never warmed up. The deep green color didn't matter much to me anymore - the drink was just perfect. Thanks Connie! I am not sure, if and when I am back again. But if I am - I will definitely stop at this restaurant and order a proper meal from their menu. I just want to.
