Located on a quaint corner of St. Louis “Kain Tayo” was a nice find. It was full of Filipinos so you know it’s authentic.

The decor is nice and of course there was an obligatory karaoke station on the corner. There looked to be a bakery stand in one corner but didn’t get a chance look in it. The tables are a bit tightly packed and there were several large parties so making my way over was problematic.

The waitress did warn us that there was only a limited number of Halo Halo left so we ordered that ahead of time and were very appreciative. In typical Asian restaurant fashion the food came out when each dish was ready not all at once so if you plan to wait until everyone has their food I would recommend not waiting if you have a large party.

The chicken adobo was good and very reminiscent of what I would make at home or what you might get at your Lola’s house when you come visit. The bistek Tagalog looked great and was served one a bed of cooked red onion. There was a touch too much calimansi flavor that it overpowered the flavor of the beef.

The halo halo was the colorful jumble of shaved ice and things that individually you think shouldn’t go together but somehow do.

Overall not a bad place to sample authentic Filipino cuisine. I would recommend. My only suggestion to the Lola or tita cooking in the back would be to put a bit less calamansi in the tapa otherwise it was a great experience.

I would say this has to be at the top end of Filipino food that I have had. Each dish was well presented and the favor was great. The fresh lumpia are just the right amount of flaky crisp to the wrapper, and the sweet and sour sauce was just the right amount of sweet, tangy, and zesty. We also had the Sinigang where the soup was just the right amount of sour brothy flavor. The pork was incredibly tender. I had the Filipino classic. Fall off the bone Chicken Adobo. Savory with a side of rice it was a hit. The Leche Flan finished things off nicely. The service was good and staff friendly. Don't forget to visit the bakery on the way out!

Just ordered the standards; lumpia, pancit, and lechon kawali. All super good! I was a bit skeptical coming here, but take it from a Filipino from San Diego, this place is legit! 😋👍👍

Got the chicken adobo which was really good, but need to go back to get the fried chicken and try more things. The ube ice cream is an absolute must try!

Celebrated my birthday here while visiting STL the other day. Our group ordered all the vegetarian options on the menu which were delicious (lumpiang togue/hubad, pancit, ampalaya)! Servers were friendly and attentive—they accommodated our requests for serving birthday cake—e.g. candles, knife, lighter, plates. Had the mango and ube flan cakes which were really yummy. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

Food was amazing.
Staff was very friendly.
Service was slow, and portions are not the biggest, but worth every penny.

The atmosphere is so peaceful and tasteful, and so is the food! The adobo and pork belly dishes me and my friends ate here were flavorful, colorful, and quick to arrive. We also got their Halo Halo dessert, which was not too sweet and really nice for a hot summer's day.

Delicious authentic Filipino food and environment! Great portions for good prices and packed with flavor. Loved every dish we had (and we ordered a ton). The staff is incredibly attentive, caring, and a pleasure to interact with. Plus they sell baked goods to go, highly recommend!

Noon time visit on a Thursday. Place was about 1/3 filled, but service can be on the slow side. Halo halo was really good as was the lumpia.
