Emily is so sweet! She’s a barista and she recommended the caramel ice latte. The drink and customer service was a 10/10
The barista Emily was so kind and quick with her service! Will continue going as long as she’s there!
Needed some pastry-fueled energy to complete our roadtrip and BakeLab did not disappoint. Ordered a few danishes, croissants, and cruffins to-go; these were right up there with some of the well-known bakeries I’ve been to around the US and abroad. The indoor/outdoor seating seemed like a nice atmosphere for students to study or remote workers to grab a table. The bakery was clean, and the staff very pleasant. We were able to find a parking spot on the side street, which I am sure becomes more difficult when school is in session. Thank you, BakeLab!
Staff was incredibly rude, especially one of the managers I interacted with. Food is okay but definitely overpriced.
This place is adorable! How did I not find it sooner? Everything was delicious, and the oatmeal cookie latte was just as great as the other reviews I've seen about it. Great place to be with fair prices and friendly service. Will be back, for sure!
Good coffee and pasteries. Poor service. Had to remind the barista multiple times to get my croissant and drink.
This is a real croissant. Shatteringly crispy with tender center. I had the plain butter but all the options were there, should you want pain au chocolate or almond etc. Perfect laminate technique - real skill here! So lucky to have world class French pastries here in Urbana! Thank you!
Ordered a matcha latte, sweetened with watered down honey. At first thought it just needed stirred. Nope, it still tasted like watered down chalk. I drink Matcha at home with Stevia or Manuka honey and it’s delicious with pure matcha flavor. I was hopeful that the the chocolat pain would be good, but it was dry, no buttery croissant deliciousness. The only flavor was the chunk of chocolate. More of a burnt flaky flavor the crust!!! VERY disappointed! Should have gone to Starbucks! AVOID
Amazing baked good in the edges of Urbana-Champaign’s college town. A nice cozy space laced with an amazing aroma of freshly baked goods that range from sweet to savory!
Would always recommend families coming to drop/pick-up their college sons and daughters to come by for a quick bite or a snack for the long way home.

Hands down, the best bakery in town! Absolutely delicious! The Urbana location has more options but the Champaign location is bigger and a great place to work too.

A few months ago, I asked the barista taking orders if they still had a specific latte that I used to really enjoy. I told her that it was totally okay if they didn’t have it, and I can always just order something else. She was very respectful about it, and asked her coworker behind her if they had that latte. After she asked, her coworker angrily yells, “it’s not on the menu!” at me. I found this very hurtful as he doesn’t know what I was going through. To be honest, I felt like crying and just going home, but I still ordered (and tipped). I think that I do know the name of this barista, but I don’t think that it is fair to publicize it and drag his name through the mud. I’ve been really wanting to get a coffee at the new location, but I’ve honestly been too afraid to even go.

Doesn’t open until 8:00am. If you’re staying in one of the “hotel” rooms for work, keep that in mind.
