“We were on the last leg of a cross-country trip from San Francisco to Michigan and hungry made itself known. We made a flying drive-thru tour of UI-UC and ordered pizza and empanadas from Manolo’s on the way into town. While zooming down I-57, we noshed on a cheese and chicken pizza as well as three empanada varieties: inferno chicken, jalapeño chicken, and potato and cheddar. Everything was awesome! I especially appreciated the pizza crust: thin, pliable, chewy, flavorful but not too salty. The one-man show running the operation during our quick stop on 12/29/21 even took time to use a clean cutter on the pizza so the PN/TN allergic diner could enjoy the feast. Is a desire to try the rest of the empanadas a valid reason for the offspring to attend UI-UC? Maybe it validates a return, daytime visit.”

“I interacted with two different employees. The first one was very friendly showing me where I could find shoes for my daughter. The cashier started out friendly but when the hoodie I was purchasing did not ring up on sale she got a little snippy when I pointed out the price discrepancy. She told me the sale was for Father’s Day and clearly did not intend to give me the listed discount. I insisted calmly that I wanted the % off advertised all over the store. In the middle of my transaction she huffed over and pulled all the signs she saw down and put them behind the counter. She didn’t say another word until the end when she said (seemingly insincerely) thank you and have a good day or something to that effect. Was not the worst and maybe she was having a bad day, but wasn’t the greatest either.”

Thurs nights are fun because they have bingo at 5:30 to 7:30 then a DJ from 8-12a. I love Sat nights cause of Karaoke and the pizza n wings are my favorite. The slots are hit n miss with me, but stay busy with winners. I'd definitely recommend trying this place out and bringing a few friends.”

I am not sure what the hours are for the other 6 days of the week.The interior is very artistic. There are many different kinds of seating areas..from family tables to counters to couches in front of a TV. I feel like this is a great place for a meeting space for different groups to come in and discuss business while enjoying a nice meal.The parking lot is not very big. I wouldn't see you fitting an RV or Semi in there..only cars, vans, and trucks.”

“Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Champaign Urbana. Always an outstanding buffet with so many delicious choices. The green beans are the best I’ve ever had. You’d never guess that you’d also find some of the cheesiest, tastiest homemade Mac and cheese here as well. Don’t let the converted restaurant scare you away, this place is absolutely wonderful.

“I come here about once a week or so and it’s honestly one of my favorite spots on campus to get a quick bite or study! Staff is always very friendly and approachable and pay great attention to detail which really makes the space feel so welcoming.I haven’t tried a lot of items from here but for their drinks, I would recommend their smoothies especially the mango passion fruit and as for food the apple and brie cheese croissant is a great pick!”

“Today we had Burrito King food truck at the west end in bement. It was my first time having Burrito King and we ordered 4steak burritos, 2tacos, 1 chorizo burrito and the grilled chicken fajita quesadilla. They all tasted amazing! I especially LOVE how every ingredient was perfectly seasoned. The proteins had the perfect amount of heat and flavor. The rice is super fluffy and also was very good. I love the corn in the burritos as well. Definitely recommend!!”

“You know that small town thing where every town no matter how small has 1 Chinese restaurant that has been open forever, nestled in the strip mall, next to whatever department store that has no marketing but none the less stands the test of time; This is that place and its great.

Food: 5 stars. Authentically American Chinese food. Greasy, glorious, necessary. From the delicious wonton soup broth that has been passed down for generations to the smoke ring on the roast pork. This place has that unadulterated flavor profile from the 1990s and man is it good. Ya'll growing up in the Midwest in the 90s and early 2000s know what I'm talking about. So 100% if you're looking for Chinese food of years past to get that flavor of your hometown you haven't visited in a while. Here it is.

Service: 5 Stars. Quick and efficient. Everything fired fresh and hot to order. Its a family run business so its got a family touch to it.

Atmosphere: 5 Stars. For those of you who didn't grow up with your small town Chinese place might not understand that the look of this place is super antique. From the washed out illuminated menu signs that have never had a day of rest since the 80s to present to the drink cooler that's done the same. All of this tells you the food is going to be amazing at a good price. Yes this isn't you new fangled fancy sit down Chinese place but that's not what its here for. This place is here for the lost souls at 2 am who look into their fridge delighted to see leftover Chinese food. This place is here for when you just need that afternoon egg roll that you know is gonna just hit the spot. 5 Stars.”

“I got a half chicken, and it was so dry. Their BBQ sauce is very delicious and managed to salvage it, but on it's own was flavorless and dry
Cornbread was good but fell apart. Very, very crumbly.

Dryness was an issue for the beef brisket as well.
Okra was really good. Mac and cheese was alright.

Service was okay. Had a bit of trouble at one point trying to get their attention to get some butter and they forgot some Texas toast with one of our meals.
