“A popular Thai eatery near the UIUC campus. We made a pit stop to take out the dinner while we were driving from Chicago to Memphis. I ordered chicken pad kra praow - with a fried egg on top. This was spicy, hot, flavourful - absolutely terrific in its own way. The portion size was big. I finished the entire box in my two meals. The fried egg on top was perfectly seasoned, and the crunchy edge was to die for. Overall, a great meal, highly recommended.“
“I ordered delivery so I can't speak for anything but the food itself, but the food was very good. It didn't cost an extreme amount of money, and I've ordered the same dish several times since first trying it. The holy basil chicken is very good and consistently good.“
“Wonderful place I stopped by from Bloomington to do some shopping and Googled fresh Asian food and did they serve that! If your craving something Vegetarian, spring rolls, fresh or Pho this is the place. Side parking only, I recommend the Cucumber salad and pad Thai with tofu so delicious! The server was very kind and refilled my drink generously, sat at the middle booth. Definitely don't miss out on this place give it a try.Vegetarian options: Pad Tai protein tofu, Spring rolls, Cucumber salad“
“The food here is always exceptionally fresh, everything is made to order, and the taste also matches in quality. Surprisingly, the wait time to receive your food is sometimes under 10 minutes. The restaurant has a really clean and calm atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and try to connect with their guest. They greet you when you come in and check in with you. I have tried their green curry and eggplant stir fry with beef. I would recommend both.Definitely one of my favourites in Champaign!“
“We stopped by for lunch on our visit to campus and the food was delicious! Very affordable, quality Thai food. They have a spiciness scale so you can choose the spice level of your dish. We had the yellow curry with tofu and a noodle dish and they were both flavorful and big portions.Vegetarian options: Tofu is a protein option for almost every dish“
“I have loved and frequented this spot for over 25 years. Today was the first time I have been back since the new owner took over. I am sorry I didn’t get his name but he was delightful. I bought 5 orders of shrimp pad Thai for myself and my family. The new packaging and portion size were amazing! The pad Thai was even better than I have ever had. I can tell the products are quality and the spice was perfect. I am so glad I came in today and so is my family who was able to drive home over an hour and half and heat it up. Would highly recommend and will be back!“
“This is so good for such a low price! Make sure to get a reward card because after so many, you get a free meal! Mango chicken and bang bang chicken are awesome! Every employee has a smile, and they are quick to let you know what is spicy and what is sweet! Never been steered wrong yet :)“
“This place is so delicious and reasonably priced. I went on Valentine's Day, and hardly anyone was there, but honestly, it should have been packed. Might be the best green curry I've ever had, and that's saying something because green curry is my go-to! Definitely be authentic because I asked if it was spicy and the waiter told me no, but it absolutely was ? (just the correct amount of spice, and I loved every bite!!) If you've been wondering about this place, make today the day you go to check it out!!“
“I was told they can literally make any dish gluten free--just let them know and they'll use a different sauce. They were knowledgeable about what does and doesn't contain wheat and interceded when I was about to order the wide flat noodles with no clue they're made of wheat! Truth be told, I haven't even got my order yet, but that service alone warrants a 5 star from me! Excellent!! I'll be back next time I'm in Chambana!“
“I came to Champaign for college in 2014 and stayed in town for 8 years until I moved out to LA. Gwok may not be the fanciest but there is something so comforting about their food. I’d choose Gwok over any Thai restaurant in LA. Whenever I’m in Champaign, I make sure I eat here at least once. My personal recs are combo fried rice, pad Thai, and Hainan chicken. This family-owned business deserves high praise.“
“I had a great experience at this restaurant! The staff was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the menu, highlighting their specials and recommendations. We started with the summer roll, and the sauce was definitely the highlight - it was so flavorful! Our favorite dish was the Lava Chicken; it was incredibly crunchy, and the portion size was perfect for sharing. We also tried the special for Chinese New Year, and while the sauce and noodles were tasty, we felt it could have used more vegetables.Overall, the price was reasonable, and the atmosphere was simple but welcoming.Highly recommend trying this place out!“
