Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Normally, the food is great and shopping is fun. But 3 days ago, I ordered the homestyle chicken salad and the salad was mostly yellow lettuce - the chef had cut the heart of the head into the salad. It was so bitter that I could not eat it. I mentioned it to the server, who should have noticed, but didn’t. Why did the chef serve this? Still, I would recommend because the food is usually good.

Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. The waiter dropped food on me, gave us the wrong check, and after 20+ minutes of waiting on the to-go box we asked for, we ended up just leaving. I tried being patient and polite, but after waiting over 20 minutes for a to-go box, my patience had gone. When expressing concerns at checkout, there seemed to be no concern for improvement, no apology, or anything. The cashier was less than pleasant. It wasn't even busy either. On the entire side where we were seated, there were only 3-4 tables seated. I understand things happen, and we all have bad days, but come on. This is excessive. What a waste of a long drive.

We were there with our church group after Sunday service. There was along wait but the food was worth it. Service was excellent. There was 7 of us and our server got everything correct and made sure our drinks were full.

We were at the Urbana, IL store. Saturday, Feb. 22nd before 6:00pm. We ordered chicken and dumplings for three of us. Waitress came out several minutes later to tell us they "ran out of dumplings" and it would be 5 minutes to make more. We waited and waited. Then the manager came out and informed us that it would take even longer for them to be done...did we want to order something different. We had already been waiting 40+ minutes. Our children were almost done eating. That would have been another 15 minutes at least for food with two little kids that were done! At the end of it all, ---took almost an hour, and the three adults didn't get to eat. We are very disappointed with the situation. The manager dumped it on the waitress to clean up. How do you run out of dumplings on a Saturday night BEFORE 6:00PM!!!!!!!! VERY DISAPOINTING!

Waitress had been doing her job for years. Excellent service. Pleasant and personable. Checked often to see if we were good. Kept coffee hot and full. The best. Strawberry cheesecake pancakes were THE BEST EVER! Please leave them on the menu. Reasonably priced. Positive experience.

We got seated right away, was not very busy. Took 10 minutes for someone to take our order... never spoke with another employee. After waiting for 30 minutes for our food, we left. I don't know what they were doing with the fireplace but the smoke was coming into the room and my eyes are now burning from the smoke.

I’ve been a longtime fan of Cracker Barrel. This was one of my favorite places to eat, sadly it’s no longer.
The restaurant, both outside & inside are dirty, unkept. Like most restaurants, it’s a lack of staff and management.
It’s sad to see a company that ran like a well oiled machine, fall apart.

Classic cracker barrel. Always clean inside and out, bathrooms are always spotless. Waitresses are normally all great and keep up with multiply tables will all providing good service, we usally eat at this location 3 or more times a month and we live hour away on indiana side. Always worth the stop!

Ellie provided outstanding service! She was warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. She always had a smile on her face and paid attention to every detail, ensuring we felt truly welcome. We really appreciate her thoughtful service and highly recommend this place! We also loved the pancakes and braised beef—they were absolutely delicious!❤️
