Very nice and spacious coffee shop with multiple seating options: single seats facing the windows, a large 20 seating area for groups, various 4 seat tables, and a relaxed couch and chair. Decor includes many plants, patterned ceilings, whimsical chandeliers, and wood flooring. Seating areas and coffee prep areas are clean, the rest of the food serving area look a bit messy. Coffee prices are good, better than most places in Champaign-Urbana area. Barista is friendly and experienced....
I had an interesting experience there today. Elm city is usually a peaceful place to sit and read for an hour, but today the barista played several acapella 'call to prayer' style songs over the speaker system at a volume that made concentrating on my book difficult.
Great, spacious cafe. The friends I met there said it was the best coffee they'd had in a long time. I am an iced tea drinker. It was delicious, too. I may need to hang out there and do homework! Fabulous!
