The food was kinda hit or miss. but I got the pulled pork sandwich with fries and it was super good. My dad got a turkey sandwich and I did not envy him. However, the golf club atmosphere and super polite staff made me feel really nice and fancy. I also just love the outdoor section where you can veiw the golfcourse.

Stopped in for a quick lunch during our round of golf. Had the Homegrown burger and it was delicious, flavors had pop and the fries were cooked to my liking. Service was excellent!

We’ve been to Homegrown a number of times since they opened. We wanted them to succeed, but they just can’t. We went tonight, my fiancé had their special, it was a Cuban. She said it tasted funny and 45 mins later she was vomiting. Their menu has shrunk significantly, only 3 appetizers, one being French fries. The menu in general is a fraction of what it once was. The restaurant was busier that we’ve seen it before, which was good. Meech was literally the only one in the entire restaurant, other than the cooks. He was the host, the bartender, the waiter, he brought us our food and cleaned the tables, for everyone that was there tonight. Meech was wonderful and did the best that he could. They have GOT to get a company in there that knows how to provide and run a good restaurant. They’re in the clubhouse of a Big Ten Universities golf team, on a beautiful golf course, with a “farm to table” restaurant that is so below average and even less farm to table. We will try it again to try to support the University, but only if they completely change everything.

Excellent service with great food equal a top-notch visit. The patty melt is delicious, as is the burger. Stopped by for a quick Sunday dinner and it did not disappoint.

Ciabatta was so dry and cold I left most of it on the plate. The salad was great.

This was our first visit to Homegrown. The grilled cheese with grilled onions and mushrooms was excellent as were the home cut garlic Parmesan fries. Service was good. We were there late in the lunch hour so wasn't super busy. I would highly recommend it.

Our experience today for Father's Day was exceptional. We loved T.K. who was over and above, and the menu was on point. We had the sweet potato hash (mine veggie, his with corned beef) and everything was fresh with the finishing touches of a chef who loves their art. Who uses cloth napkins anymore? This spacious and gracious establishment. We can't wait to return.

The man that seated us was grouchy, the Waittress was nice but it took about 45 minutes to get our food, when she asked how the food was we had just gotten our food so I said it was fine because I was happy just to see food at our table, all the tables around us was seated after us and they all had their food already and was getting their checks. Their waiter noticed and inquired if we needed service but we told him we already ordered. Finally I tried my burger and fries, it was overcooked and dried out. Worse burger and salty fries I ever had! I couldn’t taste any garlic in the garlic Parmesan fries…I wonder if my meal was sitting under the burner or if it was someone else’s reject? The location outside was beautiful and the other young waiter was thoughtful, I should have said something but since I didn’t choose the restaurant I didn’t want to make anyone feel bad.It was Father’s Day and my husband had a Reuben and his sandwich was good, but he couldn’t taste the garlic either. I really regretted not saying something but the Waittress even forgot to get 2/5 drink orders. We reminded her and she brought me my $5 orange juice in a styrofoam kiddy cup. She never asked me again if I wanted anything after the first time when the food first came.?‍♀️?

I was quite disappointed to see a menu that was seemingly less than farm-to-table. Putting that aside, we had ordered the cheese curds, and a variety of the burgers + the pesto melt. The cheese curds were below average in taste and quantity, the ranch tasted like the type with high-fructose corn syrup, and the beer mustard tasted strange. The pesto melt was okay, but the pesto lacked flavor, almost as if it was made far too many days ago and the turkey was much too similar to every day deli turkey for me. My friends complained about the dryness of the burger patty. The fries were okay. Overall we decided we likely wouldn't be back unless a change in menu or something else changed for the better. Also, there is no cocktail menu, although there is a full bar.....

we came here for my friends birthday on a monday morning so it was pretty empty. cheese curds were good. we loved the mimosas which was made with fresh orange juice. garlic parm fries needed some salt and not that crispy but overall okay. our food took a while but we were a large party. i got the jack and diane burger and it was pretty decent, nothing outstanding. the french soup was also okay. some of my friends got the turkey pesto melt and none of their sandwiches had any pesto but they still enjoyed it.

Overpriced & the food really was quite flavorless. Pretty disappointed as we live very close & we're hoping it could be a go-to.

Service was good but the food was... well... not good. They were out of something my dad first ordered so we all went with burgers. Lots of flavor options. Burger texture was odd, fries were pretty okay. I took 2 bites and couldn't eat it. I liked the flavor of the mushroom sauce, the texture of the beef was too off for me. Beer dip was awful, cheese curds were meh... Ordered desert 3 times, kitchen couldn't tell the poor server what they actually had, we just had to keep ordering until we hit something in stock... which was a rock hard oatmeal raisin cookie and [possibly frozen] cheese cake. Hope this was just an off night, reviews go both ways. Being out of stuff seems consistent. Best of luck to the establishment, truly. I just doubt we'll be back.

This is just an expensive bar with over priced food. Ruined Valentine’s Day dinner. Starters were great- had high hopes. Then it took almost 45 minutes for the food to come out - must be good! No- it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken was disgusting and made my stomach hurt. Will be sure to warn others of this place.

We were a little weary of this place because of the reviews but we came here during restaurant week and loved it! The wine and cheese pairing was very good. I had the chicken and spatzle which were very good and flavorful. My husband had salmon which was amazing! The bread pudding was a crowd pleaser. Service was great too so worth taking a chance.

I went to Homegrown during restaurant week. The service was horrible because they didn’t have a bartender and only two people working tables and getting drinks. Long waits for everything even though we had a reservation. I didn’t order off the restaurant week menu, but instead ordered a bowl of soup and garden salad with egg. The description of the soup was wrong. I thought it would be a cream of mushroom, but it was lemon water with rice. There were no mushrooms in the mushroom soup (three people at our table ordered this and I think we found one slice of mushroom between us). My $7 bowl of soup was smaller than what a cup of soup should be. When I complained to the waitress about being given a bowl of soup smaller than a cup size, she said she forgot to tell me that the restaurant week soup only had one size and it was the same price as a bowl for a small portion. My garden salad was $9 and was tiny and consisted of nothing but lettuce and dressing. The waitress told me she forgot to say they were out of egg. I thought at least there would be cheese or carrots or tomato, but there were no toppings at all. My bill was $21 (not including tip) and my meal was unbelievably tiny and plain. I was hungry when I got home and had to eat another meal. My friend had the beef and it was super fatty and she ended up not eating most of it. They forgot to tell my friends they were out of ice cream so no ice cream that was supposed to come with the bread pudding. The waitress said it is better when you don’t come during restaurant week, but I would never go back here. Between the poor service, misrepresentations, plain food in small portions and high prices, it was a complete disappointment.
