Went for lunch at 11 on a Monday. Very friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere. I got the everything bagel sandwich and a side salad which i see now was the Prairie Goddess salad-- both were excellent. My partner got the Reuben with home fries, and said they were great! We look forward to visiting again!

Everything about this place is amazing. Food is absolutely phenomenal and great coffee. I'm very picky about anything mushroom but that mushroom and sage gravy for the biscuits is so good I can't even put into words how good it is. It sounded strange to me at first, but it works.

This place is awesome! The food is super, service is friendly and attentive (but not annoying), and the atmosphere is comfy, cozy, laid-back, and welcoming.
Also — this is the first diner in CU that has exceptional regular coffee. It’s delicious. Most other places have very low grade reg coffee but Lazy Daisy’s is top notch!
I’ve been to both the cafe and the restaurant and enjoyed the visits to each.

I would say this place is more suited for older folks that have more money; not as U of I student-friendly in terms of pricing. My partner and I got the liège waffles. For $16 each I was not pleased with the portion. The waffles themselves were not large though they were quite delicious. The cream was nice as well. The menu says that it comes with fruit but as you can see in a photo posted within the reviews for this place, the fruit serving in question was three paper-thin slices of white peach and 4 blueberries… one of which was very mushy and inedible and one of which was mushy but edible. I was not happy that not only there was so little fruit given overall, but that half of my blueberries were unappetizing. I would not recommend this place unless you have lots of dispensable income or you have a very small appetite. The amount of fruit we got with our waffles was laughable, I am really not happy about that.
Some positives: friendly waitstaff, nice decor, and the place seemed clean.

Hi This Is the Best Restaurant for Delicious Food, My Hubby-Bryan-(Brutus Burton) Got Biscuits & Gravy...It Was Huge & Great & I Had a Reuben Sandwich Which Was Huge & Got the Waffle Fries... You Got a Lot!! Server-Waitress Tara & Cook Came Out With the Food & His Waffle Fries Were To Die For-Delicious!! A Must To Try!!
A great place with friendly people. The waffle is to die for and I'm a big fan of the biscuits and gravy. Also, we tried a pickle plate which was super fun. All around an amazing spot!

An absolute delight of a cafe. Everything I have gotten from both the diner and the cafe has been "forget-your-problems" good! I cannot recommend Lazy Daisy Diner & Cafe enough! It's a spot that I am proud to have in my community 🥹

I went in person a couple weeks ago and the food was pretty good and my latte was okay. I got the traditional breakfast. However I did have to wait almost 45 minutes for my food.
I decided to give them a try again, ordering takeout and apparently they don’t do takeout on the weekends (this information was not available anywhere on their website).
I’m very glad to have a new breakfast place in the CU area, but they need to get it together.
