A good Vegan restaurant near to UIUC campus with delicious menu items. We ordered Black bean burger and Hex Wrap. The burger patty was made of black bean and millets which was crispy and tasted yummy. The hex wrap was filling and tasted delicious with a spicy cashew sauce. The entrance to the restaurant was tricky to find for the first time as it was downstairs and not easily recognisable.Vegetarian options: This is a Vegan restaurant.

We really enjoyed our first visit at Red Herring! It's so nice to go to a vegan restaurant and order anything on the menu! We knew we were going to get there 20 min before they closed so we called up and placed our order. They were so kind to take it and it was ready when we arrived. We ordered nachos, the wrap and the Philly steak, some greens and cornbread muffins. There was plenty of food for 3 of us and it was all delicious! We love the cool laid back atmosphere, the art and the friendly staff. We can't wait to go back again and try more delicious vegan food! Almost forgot, the chocolate chip cookies were some of the best vegan chocolate chip cookies ever with big chunks of chips. See you again soon!

A fantastic vegetarian restaurant on campus! It hides in a basement of a house. I ordered a Black Beans Burger. It was literally amazing!!! The beans were crispy, and every bite made me happy, honestly! I also appreciated the singer and the guitarist at the corner. Their performance was so nice! People who were eating at that time were also listening to the music in silence. I really love the peaceful atmosphere! In addition, the scenery out of the windows is so pretty. I'll try to get a seat near the windows to enjoy the beauty next time hahaha!

Authentic, made from scratch vegan food! I love getting the gyro! It is the best! Their baked goods are to die for! Love this place! Definitely worth checking it out.

It's a great place for the community, and I love the philosophy The Red Herring represents. The food is delicious and creatively prepared. A person can feel good about eating there, because it's all organic and extremely healthy! I also appreciate the talented musicians that sometimes preform that give a positive ambience. Going there for lunch is a fun and happy experience to enjoy, even if you're not vegan! Nita N.

All vegan menu that contains six or maybe eight entree optionsThey also have deserts. It's too bad they don't compost, though.

Fantastic food. The place was nice, unique on its own. The only downside was that we went there for a lunch discussion, but the live music was just too loud.

It's a vegetarian restaurant in the basement of Channing Murray Foundation. Cool vibe, the food taste good. You can see it's history on the wall in the entrance, which says that this place used to be a activists gather place and later become a vegetarian restaurant. It's so cool. People there are all very nice.
