Three years ago, my wife and I were on the road and spent a night in Vandalia. We really just stumbled into Blind Society and loved it. The atmosphere, drinks, food and service were excellent.
We are on the road again this summer. I couldn't remember the name of the restaurant or town. However, I had taken a picture of my wife seated on a park bench next to a statue of Lincoln three years ago. I ran it through Google Lens and found out that we were in Vandalia. Only took a minute to find Blind Society and make a reservation for tonight. Atmosphere, drinks, food and service were excellent again. It was worth the 600-mile drive. We will be back next time we are in the area.

The bartender (cody I think) was an absolute Rockstar and went way out of his way and brought our carrot cake to our air bnb after we left. Great food. Great drinks 10/10

Food was horribly over salty (and I usually add salt). Overpriced for the amount received. The burger was ordered medium rare - was no pink to be found, so it was probably just under well done. The pretty atmosphere and wait staff don't make up for bad food.

The food was wonderful but the service was great. Cody (the bartender) was super attentive and really ontop of his game. The old fashioned was perfect. The steak was perfect. This is a great place that I will bring people to on future trips to this area.

Had a 6pm reservation, but had to wait for a table for 10 mins while walk-ins were sat ahead of us. We then waited for our food for 1h 45 mins. Server was nice, but not great. Staff just seems a little clueless about how standard restaurants run.

We had heard several good recommendations about this restaurant and decided to go last night. I had a steak and my wife had a salad. Both meals were exceptional. I highly recommend you make the short trip to Vandalia to experience this restaurant with great food and friendly staff.
