They need to train the workers to change there gloves when dealing with food. The one girl with dark hair was touching the phone , the register, wiping hwr gloves on bee shirt and pants then grabbing toppings. We won’t be going there again. This is how people get sick with cross contamination. Unacceptable.

Worst place and staff. Avoid Townline Road branch.

What is the management thinking?? One person running around the whole place in charge of everything huge line it’s crazy.

Please start training your staff on basic customer service - like acknowledging customers if you’re busy and they have to wait for a ridiculous amount of time because the kid in charge is on his phone. There were four customers here, two staff members. No one said anything to us for over 10 minutes. The young man “in charge” was unprofessional and unapologetic. Do better.

Have been coming to this Cold Stone for years, and the ice cream never gets old. My personal favorite is the Birthday Cake Remix, as you get a brownie mixed within the ice cream itself. They also have many options and different varieties; perfect for all kinds of tastes. In my last visit, Omar scooped my ice cream and was very nice and courteous. He was quick and good at what he does. I can highly recommend this Cold Stone and am glad it’s nearby.

Normally the ice cream is good, however, as someone with a severe nut allergy, I noticed the ice creams are constantly cross-contaminated. There are pieces of nuts from other ice creams in bins that aren’t supposed to have nuts in them. The utensils are also constantly swabbed. It makes ordering something hard for fear of having a bad reaction. This should definitely be fixed. It’s dangerous and a huge concern.

We bought a custom-made ice cream cake in celebration of a family member's birthday. When cutting the ice cream cake, we found two long, straight blonde strands of hair embedded within the cake. Nobody at the birthday celebration has long, straight hair and the hairs were completely embedded within one of the layers of the ice cream cake. So, they had to come from Cold Stone. This discovery of two long hairs inside of the ice cream cake put an immediate end to our enjoyment of the cake. That's bad enough, but what happened next is unacceptable. I contacted the Vernon Hills store twice asking for a refund, but I received NO response. I also contacted Cold Stone Customer Service and received no response. When I followed up with a phone call, I was told that they would respond within 3 days but there was no response after 4 days. This incident would have been an opportunity to display exemplary customer service and make it right. But completely ignoring the customer and breaking promises only compounded the problem. At this point, I can only say that Cold Stone Vernon Hills has a sanitation problem and a customer service problem.

Regardless of what season it is in the Chicago area whether it's freezin' outside or scorching hot, there's always room for Cold Stone.The high-end ice cream parlor is a real treat year round and their creations make it worth your while even almost always whenever I bring my boys to a location, they just want their ice cream w/o any toppings.The high quality brand is much better than BR and DQ and obviously does battle with the likes of Oberweis, Graeter's and Chocolate Shoppe venues.A decent array of flavors along with an arsenal of toppings and mix-ins makes CSC stand out compared to any competitors out there.Always consistently good customer service in a clean space and still reasonable prices for what you get despite the pandemic, nationwide inflation and minimum wage hike.
