We’ve always loved this place. It’s our special occasion place as it’s a bit more expensive than everyday fair. Love the Tom Kha soup, creamy coconut milk with galangal. It’s a must. Pad Thai is also the best in the area. We used to go to a place in Evanston that had wonderful Pad Thai but it closed. This is a close second. Panang Curry is also quite good. Another favorite: the mu-sa-mun curry, beef floating in peanut sauce. I’ve seen recent reviews that were not favorable, but we’ve always had a good experience. It’s possible it varies by day.

I ordered the duck soup with mushrooms bean sprouts and noodles. I got the soup with no duck! I live in glenview long drive. And it was supposed to be my last meal because of surgery tomorrow I’ve always looked forward to this place real bad timing in messing up my meal. Called and made complaint really didn’t think the lady cared. I should have talked to the owner instead of poor help.

Not sure what happened at this restaurant recently. The food, quality and quantity has all completely changed. The fried rice was oily and we ended up ordering one more dish because the quantity was so little and my kids were still hungry. I ordered Tom Yum was was $10.95 and served in a small Corelle dish. Tasted awful and not worth $10.95 for such a small quantity. Pad Thai has always been pretty good here but it was awful today the least. Something is off at this restaurant now, sadly!

Torn between 4 & 5 stars All 4 of us enjoyed our meals, and our server was very attentive (almost a little too much, but it was 4PM on a Saturday, so they weren't crowded). Only reason for 4 stars is the price - average price per person, no drinks, was over $20. Different class of establishment, but Asian take-out is closer to $8-$10 per person.

Old and dirty. No longer a good value. The dining room had cockroach and ants running around on the floor! Lettuce was old and wilted.. Portions have been significantly down sized.

We went to Green Basil Thai Restaurant & Bar for lunch with the team, and honestly, it was a pretty underwhelming experience. We ordered a variety of dishes—fried rice, pad thai, green curry, and some appetizers—hoping to get a good spread, but everything tasted very mediocre. No one at the table really had anything positive to say about the food. For a place that looks nice enough for a team lunch, the flavors just didn’t deliver.

Came here for lunch and ordered the Penang Curry, which is usually one of my favorite dishes. The lunch portion was priced fairly at about $15, but the execution was disappointing.
The curry didn’t resemble a proper Thai Penang. The gravy wasn’t creamy at all, with coconut milk basically missing. Instead, it tasted like mostly Penang curry paste thinned out with water, with barely any coconut cream to give it body. The result was a very watery, over-seasoned dish that leaned more toward an Indian-style curry than Thai Penang.
While the price was reasonable, the dish itself left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I just didn’t enjoy it. Hopefully other menu items fare better, but I can’t recommend the Penang Curry based on my experience.
