Good, not great. - The food was good, But the shrimp had a little taste of chlorine. They need to switch to a better quality shrimp provider. Rib tips were good but too greasy. Bread pudding was excellent. Prices were excellent. Variety on the menu was excellent. You can eat inside or take to go as most people do.

I am not sure how this place has so many positive reviews because the food is simply not good. The "barbeque" is clearly just boiled meats with no flavor. The sauce is closer to marinara than barbeque, and the "hot" option doesn't taste any different from mild. The potatoes and greens were both bland and overcooked. It's a cute little restaurant and the service was fast and friendly, but with food this unpleasant I just don't see why you would come here compared to some fast food joint.

This place is awesome I've been going there for 30 years ever since they've been in the beach park Zion area and now Wadsworth ,I now drive 70 miles from Rockford to Captain Porky's for rib tips because Rockford has nothing to offer like Porky's. The sauces is boss I even use hot BBQ sauce on the shrimp.
The gator , bbq, and brisket all great..the sides are all so great

Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but the food was bad.
The lobster mac & cheese side was oversized, dry penne pasta with no cheesy sauce and no lobster to be seen. On the plus side, a very overpowering fishy smell.
1/2 lb of Cajun crawfish came un-fresh and unseasoned as far as I could tell with a side cup of melted butter sauce.
Maybe just an off day for the kitchen but I will not be risking it again.
Shrimp boil was trash, no flavor, not even the butter garlic. $20 for 6 flavorless shrimp, piece of corn ans a boiled egg!! Leave the boils the professionals. You guys are great at most things, but definitely NOT THIS
