Got the rib dinner here with the beans and fries as a to-go order. Service was fast and courteous. The food is fantastic. The ribs had a fantastic sauce, but you can do taste the smoke underneath. The meat was fall off the bone tender and very juicy. The beans were delicious as well. The fries were, unfortunately, a little under done, but that might be because I was early to the pick up time. But all in all, it was all wonderful meal.

Girlfriend and I came in close to 7pm this last Saturday. We are from east peoria but I've been seeing this place non stop on Facebook. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the Owner. He was very welcoming while explaining they are short staffed today and wait times might be a little longer than normal waiting for your food. No problem at all for us but we appreciated the heads up and knew it was worth the wait. We had a great experience at Stringtown BBQ. The food was amazing. Might be the best BBQ I've ever had and same with the MacNcheese. Girlfriend and I shared the pulled pork and brisket while I had the MacNcheese and steak fries and she had the cowboy baked beans and slaw. We loved the food! Also while there, the owner himself and the 3 different servers there that night all walked by and checked on us at different times. Everything was great and we will definitely be back! Thank you for the amazing food and outstanding service.
We’ve ordered carryouts several times, for a generally large group (10+). Always accommodating and very thorough with our orders! Small town business which makes it even better.
Apart from inattentive service, the food was not good. The pulled pork was wet, no bark, not even a hint of being smoked. The ribs were the texture of oven baked ribs, not smoked. Our sides weren't anything special either unfortunately. If you're looking for actual barbecue, there are other better options.
My only regret is that the Gator Gumbo isn't on the menu every day!

We have eaten there twice.The ribs and pulled pork, very tasty with a good smokey flavor. We had the gator gumbo...It was delicious. he really knows his stuff and does a great job with barbecue. Nice, friendly staff. Sides...great potato salad, the cowboy beans were good, but a bit sweet, coleslaw more mayonnaise vs sweet. We love supporting locally owned businesses. Come on out..a nice drive... you won't be disappointed! ( it's a neat building , but can get a bit loud...that's why 4 stars).

My first time here and have been wanting to try and a friend of mine made the trip..arrived around 1:35 and apparently had a lunch special that was not offered for $9..I ordered the brisket sandwich and coleslaw and baked beans at regular price and tea..paid regular price and will not go out of my way or recommend.
