Something about walking through a four-foot-tall maze of pastry cases with a pair of tongs makes a person lose any sense of moderation. Fortunately for us, this place is cheap. And soooo delicious. Every morning I grabbed pan dulce on the way to work and went through my work day lightly dusted in flour and sugar. In the afternoons I would stuff my face with about 20 churros on the walk back to the Metra and ride away with my palm on the window, wistful.
