On The Rocks, also known as Green Town Tavern, is located by Waukegan Harbor. The setting is really beautiful with a view of the beach. The restaurant is free to the public, charging only for special events. There is a small bar and different food trucks every day. The best part is the music, with a band shell and a great stage and sound system. There is cool seating with fire pits, couches, trees, and a charming fire pit area. Drinks are strong and priced well, though some find them a bit expensive but large. The food is great; the gumbo and jerk chicken pasta are excellent. The bartenders are great, and there is a DJ. The atmosphere is nice, perfect for a casual bite or a fun night out. One complaint is that the bar stools are the most uncomfortable possible. Bring your own chairs. Cash only bar.
