After Vesecky (bakery) in Berwyn closed several months ago, preceeded by the loss of Bohemian Crystal (restaurant) about a year earlier; we thought it was no longer worth the 3+ hr drive up to the Chicago suburbs to satisfy our Czech food cravings. We were wrong; as finding this little gem was such a fortunate happenstance. The cream of mushroom soap is wonderful, the breaded pork tenderloin excellent, the strudel addictive, the kolacky tasty, etc etc etc... And; they have jaternice, cream sausage, head cheese, etc. all of which is virtually non-existent in mid-north Indiana. This is the type of east-European ethnic deli/eatery that is becoming harder and harder to find; thank goodness we spotted it. If one enjoys Czech cuisine, this is a "must" visit.

Sold out to Amazon. Greenwashed products galore. Everythings marked up two dollars. Only if no coop is available is it worth it.

The best Czech favorites anywhere at real Bohemian prices! ( And trust this old Bohock, they're getting hard to find....)Rye Bread, Houska, Strudel, Fruit Dumplings, even Breaded Pork Tenderloin by the piece - all home cooked the way your Babicka used to make it. Call ahead for large or holiday orders to make sure you get what you need. The owner is very good about taking requests.

Came for the great reviews and promises of hot food and left with nothing. Counter man was prickly and unhelpful and clearly was trying to clean up and close up despite being open for another four hours. Made us feel like an inconvenience despite driving an hour out of our way to get some Czech goodies. No hot food was available, no menu, no reason to return.

My whole family loves this deli. The homemade cream of mushroom soup is delicious and contains no MSG. All of the other soups are very good as well. My parents buy the dill gravy and make Czech-style cod with it. I try to avoid the sweets, but they have a huge selection and look heavenly. The freshly-baked bread on Friday is wonderful.

Great place for slovak and czech food and snacks. The cakes and ready to eat meals are very authentic. The food options change and soda and goodies they sell are reasonable priced. Definitely the best option for Czechoslovak food in the chicagoland area

Called ahead, Thanksgiving week and although busy, they agreed to set aside a fresh struddle for me to pick up for a family party. GREAT service, and delicious food. Best strudel!
