The "Jungle Plate" owners are friendly, personable, happy...simply a bucket full of joy. They make you feel so welcomed, like you're family and have known them forever!
They have shared with me soon good news of great plans for things they are also will be featuring there. Things like themes for fun African nights, music, and arts (just to name a few). I'm so excited for them and can't wait to experience it.
The establishment and kitchen are ultra clean and very organized. AND O.M.G. the food!!! It is made piping hot; fresh to order and is some of the best African (Nigerian) food I've ever had in my whole life.
The prices are reasonable. The avg for my order is apprx $20. The portions sizes are good. They even have a bevy of Mocktails that they serve. I don't know what it is, but even the pitcher of water they bring out to your table taste so crisp, clean, and good. I'm wondering if they make that too ;)
For me, the spinach ( one of my favs ✔️) is to absolutely live for. So addictive I can't get enough. SERIOUSLY! I ask the "Jungle Plate" owners how they make it taste so good? They just smile and say, it's because their food is made fresh and with love. For sure, if love has a taste, then this is definitely it.
In that, I practice a vegan lifestyle... I was so glad to know that they had some vegan options for me. YAY! I'm a real foodie person and serious about my eats. I'm was grateful to learn that they respect and honor keeping various vegan food items separate and apart from other non-vegan food items via how they prepare and cook them. And oohwee can they plate and serve it up. Though, I haven't been a carnivore for a good long while now; I tell you true...if I were, I have no doubts that I'd be all over their meat and sea food dishes too.
From the look appeal to the savory food aromas to the soulful, delicious African seasons, herbs, and spices ...indeed, after one yummy mouth watering taste, you will be hooked. And if you're like me, you'll also be wishing that you lived right around the corner from the spot place so you can eat there always and often.
Whenever I eat there in person, I know it is improper to lick the plate. But... when I order my food and bring it home, licking the plate or bowl clean is a must every time. So yeah, if licking the pate was a person... that would be me. LoL.
To the owners, Booki and Samuel... You and your culiary gifts are truly everything! I plan to tell the whole world about you. And there's absolutely nothing YOU can do about it ( smile) ?

I had to leave a bad review of this place because while eating Egusi soup my TOOTH BROKE. I have eaten here before and it was fine so I tried again and today I am extremely disappointed.

The food that I purchased at the Jungle Plate was pretty good. I got the jerk tacos and jollof rice. The Jollof rice slaps hard! It had a nice level of heat to it and juicy chuncks of seasoned chicken The portion sizes could be a little better for the price. I would definitely go back but for the cost JP gotta increase the portion size a bit more....I truly hope the establishment becomes successful.

I wanted to try some authentic African food; I have to say after watching a lot of Nollywood, the food looks so good and spicy. Most African restaurants are North, I wanted something closer to home. The Jungle Plate was not disappointing. The Jollof Rice is amazing, egusi soup loved it, asun pepper with plantain again loved it. Now waiting for some suya and pepper soup. It's best to order before going if you're in a rush, but it's worth the wait also. Good food takes time, and yes, you get plenty. I've been twice since last month and hoping to go again this month.

Made the right choice going to the Jungle Place. Got the Jollof Dinner Jerk chicken and Jungle chicken was spot on, Everything tasted so good definitely coming back for more.
Good things with lots of flavor are worth the wait. Please understand Most African cuisine requires some time to prepare and you’ll have to be patient with the cook time this is not fast food, it’s food for the soul. Was looking for a Ghanaian west African restaurant and decided to give this one a go. The owner was very respectful and friendly she was happy to see us. The food was worth every penny delicious flavor reminded me of home. I will be back with a bigger group!!
