The presentation of the dishes looks humble but they taste super authentic and delicious. They have probably the best Asian food in Chicago. If you want to know what Asian grandma food taste like, you got to try this place.
Growing up, Di Ho used to be the epicenter of the small western suburb Asian community. It was where I tried proper Taiwanese beef noodle soup for the first time and became obsessed. For a long time, I associated the best beef noodle soup in Di Ho with the store front on the far right. Today, I learned that this shop owner has since moved to the Oriental Food House aka 'Taiwan Xiao Chi' store front on the far left. For 37 years, this true mom and pop shop has been working...
The stinky tofu is really stinky, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (compared to the one next door). The meatballs and glutinous rice sausages are also good. They are extremely difficult to eat in the United States. Very attentive. Thank you. A must-visit place if you want to eat Taiwanese food.
