The food is expensive and the service is decent and the ambiance is pretty cool. I did enjoy the dessert

I wanted to like this place as I'm always looking for new coffee spots and what could be better than coffee and baked goods. While my husband liked his espresso, my latte was meh at best. The food was not particularly good. On the positive side, the people working were exceptionally nice. The order taker/sandwich maker was particularly nice so much so that I can overlook their lack of acknowledging my request for coffee AFTER lunch. As for the food, my avocado toast tasted ok but I was disappointed by the old brown avocado. My husband said his butterfinger cake pop didn't taste like butterfinger, I thought it did. My Andes Mint cake pop was overly rich, would've preferred a lighter bite, I could only eat about half of it. I might return for Bingo night, Trivia night, or movie night. Night times are probably better there as they have a well stocked bar.

YUCK! I don't recommend eating these baked goods sober. Avoid. Better off going to Jewel. Your welcome.

West Town Bakery opened another location! They have branched out to the suburbs and created an awesome space with a connection to OKAY dispensary. This place is awesome. The bakery continues to impress and by the way has the most FABULOUS gluten free selections, I LOVE the cake balls! There is also a very cool inviting lounge attached to OKAY which I highly recommend visiting as well. Now I hear they are expanding and opening a new location in Evanston in early 2024, can't wait to see that. Nice job West Town, keep up the good work, I will see you soon!Dietary restrictions: BEST gluten free baked goods EVER!

This place ROCKS! It has it all: Food, Drinks, Cannibas and a LOUNGE! Not only do you experience fabulous food and baked goods but the atmosphere is fun and inviting. Everyone is extremely friendly and warm and the entire experience was great. The bakery offers a large selection of AWESOME gluten free goodies. For an added bonus the OKAY dispensary and lounge is just cool. Also, have to mention that the GLUTEN FREE CANNIBAS infused Devil's Food Cake mix is absolutely FABULOUS! I highly recommend. I understand they are expanding soon to Evanston, cannot wait to visit the new location, heard it is going to be just as spectacular. Nice job West Town, keep it up!

Fantastic coffee shop that serves Dark Matter Coffee. Delicious cake balls. Didn't try other food yet but everything looks fresh and delicious. I stayed away thinking only cannabis infused stuff was on the menu...totally separate space. Kid friendly!!!

Bought a batch of 12 cake balls. They were $36ish. Tried 3 different flavors. They were all terrible. Strange textures and flavors. The cereal on the fruity pebbles one was stale. Complete waste of money.

Friendly place for coffee. The desserts looked good but we didn't get any. This is a shared building with a dispensary but they have separate spaces inside.

My boyfriend and I went here for takeout breakfast this morning. 2 breakfast sandwiches, 2 iced coffees. Two tables seated and eating, otherwise no line/waiting. We spent 35 minutes here as the only staff member could not operate the point of sale system. Another staff member appeared after 10 min, started making our bacon/egg/cheese croissants, and was called over by the (owner?) who could not operate the register. Our 4 items cost a whopping $40 and we had to remind them on our way out that we didn’t receive our coffees. We ordered 16 oz (large) coffees and they hurriedly handed us 2 8 oz coffees. Sandwiches had absolutely no taste and I wish I took a photo. Bonus points for kind workers and perhaps we caught them on an off day but I certainly wish we had spent $40 elsewhere.

I do NOT recommend West Town Bakery. The food was horrible, and the service (if you can call it that) was sub-standard at best. I received a gift card for my birthday and was super excited to try the food here as I heard good things about it. We we got there we were seated right away as we were part of the 6 customers there. My wife ordered a croissant and a bagel sandwich with dill cream cheese and lox (not worth the $16) you can get better at Original Bagel up the road for way less. The croissant was at least a day or two old. Not flaky, the inside was deflated and stuck to itself. The bagel had processed cheap dill cream cheese and the lox was frozen. I ordered an egg and sausage on a biscuit; which they totally FORGOT to make! I went to the bar to ask about Bingo Night and the bartender asks, "Didn't you have a sandwich?" DUH!!! Oh and let's not forget the fact that the bartender gave our coffee to another table and brought us the wrong coffee order. So she brings us our cold coffee (ran out of oat milk) and GAVE the free coffee to the other table!! No, "Oops, let me pay for your coffee." NOTHING!!! The service SUCKED! The food SUCKED! And I reached out to them via their website, do you think they git back to me? HELL NO!! Also, they are total IDIOTS in the dispensary. No clue on what to use for headaches. They just want to sell their pre-rolls to send you into the smoking lounge, which was a boring atmosphere at best. DO NOT GO HERE!!

My husband and I went to West Town Bakery - Wheeling on a Sunday morning with a Meet-up group. When we arrived, there were many people coming in and out of the store. There were about 40 people there. We started in the bakery area where we ordered a hot chocolate, a drip coffee, chocolate chocolate chip muffin, dark matter donut, and chocolate raspberry croissant The hot chocolate was very rich and creamy. The croissant was rich in both chocolate and raspberry flavor. One taste did not take a backseat to the other. The donut was moist and had a coffee flavor to it. The muffin was moist, flavorful, and had a lot of chocolate chips in it. After we got our food, we were greeted by the owner, who explained a bit about the business. We learned about the dispensary, the rules that they have to follow, and what they offer. Then, the owner took us into the lounge. This is where you can enjoy their products on site. It is a very nice, bright area with many windows. There are comfortable seats and tables and games that you can play. Whether you are looking for food, drinks, or other indulgences, I highly recommend West Town Bakery - Wheeling!

Nice spot to enjoy a delicious array of baked goods from cake balls to croissants to danishes to donuts in a spacious setting with plenty of parking. In addition to a large dining area, they also have a lounge as well which is decorated nicely and filled with comfortable furniture and an assortment of board games. The baked goods I tried here were all delicious and filled with plenty of high quality ingredients (you pay a bit more, but in a chocolate danish you'll have plenty of chocolate chunks inside). They tasted quite fresh and had good textures to match, like the yeast donut was pretty fluffy and the muffin had a good level of chewiness. The flavors were pretty distinct and I didn't find anything too sweet. The drinks were also pretty good as well, where the coffee was pretty smooth and not really bitter, and the hot chocolate had a nice strong flavor of chocolate that went well with the whipped cream on top. I didn't try any of the sandwiches or other kitchen items on this trip but they looked to be prepared nicely and with a good sized portion.Overall, a nice place to enjoy a casual baked good and cafe drink in the Wheeling area. The prices are similar to what you'd find at Starbucks and the quality of the food reflects this as well. Service is friendly and prompt.
