Alchemy Coffee & Bake House

I used to love this place and still want to love it. I think they’ve changed something with their coffee or how they make it and it’s just not the same quality as it used to be, which is disappointing. Hoping they’ll turn it around again! The scones are great and I loved coming here every weekend for a coffee.

this vanilla bomb frappe had such a strange texture it almost feels like you're drinking sand and it's a little bit unpleasant, the flavor wasn't good either, also the service feels like it's run by kids as their summer job which is fine but it's kind of weird to yell at me about why I'm waiting when they're the ones that forgot what drink I ordered lol

Scones & place are perfection! So why the 1 star for service and atmosphere? The guy owner is like the “No soup for you” guy from Seinfeld! 😬You have to tip-toe around him because you never know the mood or demeanor you’ll catch him in on any given day, volatile or accommodating!
😠 Hey, everybody can have a bad day, or substantial struggles that can affect one for a while, but with this guy, the sour mood has come and gone for years!

I visited this place for about 15 years ago and got my best cup of coffee ever!
My last visit for some weeks ago was a very good experience.
I will come back on my next trip to USA.

Best homemade scones (sweet or savory) which are often still warm, records playing, great drip coffee, plenty of seating out front and a bike rack nearby. You can pay with cash, card, or Venmo. This place is a little magical secret tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Like going back in time to a year called 2003, when the world was simpler and the scones were buttery-er.

We love this cute little coffee shop.. one of our favorite things to do is go on a Saturday morning and grab a cup of coffee and a scone and enjoy the quiet of the neighborhood!

They know what they’re doing and offer the best coffee break in the village. Small, quaint, mom ‘n’ pop. It’s what keeps Wilmette, Wilmette. Perfect destination on way to / from walks to the beach and the shore.

My best friend goes there weekly I wish I could too but I neither drink coffee nor eat sugar/gluten so I allow myself to slurge on smoothie or sconce once a month. The staff is friendly. The scones to die for. Smoothies without artificial stuff or corn syrup. My gf swears by their coffee and made it her weekend priority before going for the morning walk. The quirky part is the word of the day written on the dry erase- always educating... And they have the old fasioned magnetophone with the tape runnii g or LP vi yl player. Hiw can you not like your life when you drink your java to the sound of Changes by Yes???

Owner is not kind. scheduled an interview with me and never showed up. I drove 40min there and back for no reason. The owner claimed it was a glitch with indeed, although the time was confirmed personally through a message. He did not initially apologize either.

Scheduled an interview with me which was confirmed. I drove 40min there and 40min back for no reason because no one was there. I understand things happen, but to not even apologize is quite absurd. Then to claim it was a glitch is even worse. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but maybe not this one.
