We were there Saturday night for pick-up. I have to say we were rather disgusted by the filthy entrance to the place. Garbage and clothes on the floor, an orange cone, and tape prevented you from going any further. Really? The food was okay. Not much to shout about. We won't be going back because we are concerned about the cleanliness of the food preparation area in the back. Looking at some of the reviews in the past, there are complaints of mud and bugs. I filed a complaint with the Wilmette Health Dept. This is unacceptable.

If the first impression doesn't get you, you will pay the price. It's a carry out only place, called in my order and went to.pick it up. Well, the place is filthy, like old basement dirty. The food, well had it for lunch, hit the bathroom an hour later..so much grease. Dont know how they survived covid, but think their days are numbered...

When I heard that the owners of Pine Yard (Evanston staple) had opened up a takeout spot in Wilmette I had to make my way. I ordered Three Delecacies, spring rolls and a few other items. Just as amazing as I recall. I'll most certainly be back! Highly recommend.

I have eaten food from here before. It was OK, but not great. I would not return because their place is filthy and full of sick and dying plants. I go to Duncan Donuts frequently next door and walk by this place all the time. The dirt makes my skin crawl. Just yuck.

I got some eggrolls and hot and sour soup. The eggrolls were very greasy and a hot and sour soup doesn't look or taste anything like hot and sour soup. Paid almost double for the same size near my house, definitely not coming back the food is gross.

The food is excellent. I have to say the owner is really mean and she can be very difficult to deal with. There's definitely a language barrier. She has always been this way. Even when it was Pine Yard Inn in Evanston. I think that's just her. That's why her sister in-law Quit. If you can get pass the rudeness the food is great. My favorite. It's a shame because you're paying good money but I love their Szechuan beef and broccoli and their lo mein noodles and their shrimp toast. I'm getting the same thing for over 20 years. I just imagine this is a scene from Ed Debevics

Loved this restaurant when it was Pine Yard in Evanston. The food at the new location is about 80% as good. But the service is terrible. The woman on the phone is rude. We've been waiting over 2 hours for a simple delivery order. And have been on the phone 20 minutes waiting for an update. There are a lot of angry customers in the background who are just as unhappy. We will never order from here again.

We loved Pineyard, but the service here is terrible. Skip and order from Lao Sze Chuan or Little Lan's instead.

Dreadful. Mongolian beef gummy , an MSG overdose. Bland and flavorless. Mu-Shu Pork too soft even for a canine , little flavor, Ed 3g [kithvr

I really like the spicy food they make here! The family is really friendly as well.

For those seeking the elusive taste of Evanston's Pineyard, MeiLin House is indeed where their recipes have landed. We were in the neighborhood at around 2pm and my daughter and I placed an in-person order to bring home for dinner. We were the only customers in the place and enjoyed a conversation in a combo of Mandarin-English with the little boy going to virtual school up front. We ordered a Mongolian Beef lunch special (which comes with an egg roll and vegetable fried rice) and the dinner portion of Shrimp with Lobster Sauce (with steamed white rice). We waited outside for less than 15 minutes when the little boy popped his head out of the door to tell us our food was ready. All good. We get home and find out that there is no egg roll and no fried rice with the teeny tiny lunch portion of Mongolian Beef. Huge bummer for the teenage daughter who really really wanted those items. How do you get the order wrong when there are no other orders and the restaurant is dead empty? I'm befuddled. On to dinner... the food was good old fashioned Pineyard taste and quality. I think we have romanticized the food since the big fire and forgot that their recipes generally include gloppy and oily sauces. It was a culinary walk down memory lane, to include waking up at 2am to chug several glasses of water to offset the amount of salt used. Overall, the forgotten food items and massive amount of msg just won't have us driving back to west Wilmette for Chinese food. If you need to eat Pineyard one last time, roll the dice and stop in.

Amazing and delicious. Stop by if you’re driving by and pick up a menu to take home or order ahead if you know how to use the internet.

We have been regular customers for years. little by little I have been appalled by how filthy the front of this establishment is. The pandemic has nothing to do with cleanliness. Dead plants, bag of dirty laundry at door, dust over everything, pile of unused equipment behind register. The food has been good but with cleanliness a serious problem up front, what is kitchen like? Rudeness is a culture issue and not big issue for me, however when I complained about small bugs in our sizzling rice soup, no response in English. Not ever going back.

The absolute worst service. This is the second order during the pandemic when I was extremely disappointed. The person taking the orders is extremely rude and argumentative, the place is filthy dirty, the floors look like they were never washed. I didn't notice it before because I was in and out. I will never order from here again. The health department should take a look at this place to ensure our safety, the customers. I didn't give a bad review first time understanding that the food industry goes through a tough time but this is truly unacceptable.

We’ve been searching for good Chinese for years and were pleased with tonight’s dinner. Because we had 95 year old grams with us we couldn’t go spicy - but will next time. Dumplings were tasty and shared a nice sauce with some heat with the scallion pancakes. Those were very filling and a bit too bready but flavorful. Mains were Mongolian beef, which was so tender that you could cut it with a fork. Could’ve used a few more onions but was very good. Bland but great was Mongolian chicken with cashews. Was more like very tender chicken and zucchini with a few cashews. The zucchini was surprisingly good however. Portions were large and reasonably priced.... we will return!
