I’d say this place is my fav spot in Wilmette! Everything for me was great, foods, drinks, and service. If you visit Wilmette and want to enjoy sitting and chill at the patio I recommended you to visit this bar!

Service and Food was 10 out of 10. Beautiful area and patio, food was delicious as well as our server’s attitude and service. The only HUGE issue I had was the owner or manager - seating another couple and loudly stating “I would fire my staff if you knew what I had to deal with… These high schoolers”. Very unprofessional, as an owner or manager you should be protecting your staff and have a side conversation if you’re upset with the way they’re operating. Stating this out loud where your full guest out on the patio to hear is unbelievable. I feel horrible for everyone who works here. High schoolers tend to operate by example so I’m sure the owner/manager is operating in a way where they *thought* they were doing a good job. It’s sad to see and hear. Can’t win them all! Do better sir. Everything else was beautiful and cannot give the food and service a better review than the 10 of 10. :)

The service was outrageously bad. 15 minutes until we were greeted. Then 10 minutes more get our drinks, after I went in to check on them. Oysters came in 39 minutes (actually, some other table's oysters came in 39, ours came in 42). Mentions of it were met with excuses by the manager. “The bar is backed up.” But what does that have to do with the long greet? Or the 40 minute oysters? I worked in the industry for over a decade, so I give a lot of grace to service issues. Restaurants are hard. But this was laughably bad; I wasn't even mad--I was just shaking my head at the comedy of errors. It wasn’t busy. We were there so long, the kitchen actually opened for things other-than-oysters and I wanted to order more food and get a second drink. But they never checked back after dropping the oysters, even though my wife's glass was empty. If you aren't ready and able to serve guests, don't seat them. We could have easily gone across the street if you told us you weren't ready to handle guests. And if you mess up, don't compound it by ignoring us.

Pescadero offers fresh oysters, creative cocktails, and a coastal-chic vibe that makes it a great spot for date night or a night out with friends. The seafood is generally excellent—especially the oysters and starters—but some entrées felt a bit underwhelming for the price. Service is friendly, though can be slow during busy times. Overall, a strong choice if you're craving quality seafood in the North Shore.

A Mixed Experience at a Long-Time Favorite

We’re frequent visitors to Pescadaro, primarily for their consistently excellent oysters and creative cocktails and wine selection - both of which continue to impress. The service, as always, was outstanding.

That said, I was disappointed during our most recent visit. I completely understand that menus evolve with the seasons or in an effort to stay innovative, but it felt like many of the classics we’ve loved over time had either changed significantly or disappeared altogether.

One example was the octopus dish, which has long been a favorite of mine. I specifically asked for it to be charred, as I enjoy that crisp texture, and made it clear it was going to be my main course. What arrived was a far cry from what I’d come to expect. Instead of a beautifully presented whole tentacle with fennel and potatoes on a plate, I was served sliced pieces in a bowl, swimming in oil. The octopus was rubbery, lacked any char, and the overall presentation felt sloppy—not at all in line with the price or previous standard.

To the bartender’s credit, he noticed my disappointment and did what he could to make things right. I truly appreciated his effort, but of course, he’s not the one preparing the food. Unfortunately, I only have room for so much food in one sitting, and the dish I’d most looked forward to just didn’t deliver.

Pescadaro, I hope you’ll consider not fixing what isn’t broken. Seasonal changes are great, but perhaps give patrons the option to order fan favorites in their original preparation. Some dishes just don’t need a reinvention.

We just had brunch here and the food is so delicious and the staff incredibly friendly. The Pescadero burger is divine, with avacado and tomatoes with roasted red onions. We also had the Maryland crab cakes with eggs and hollandaise sauce which was so flavorful. The breakfast potatoes were an extra treat. Angelina waited on us with a beautiful smile and attitude. It’s worth a drive to Wilmette!

So disappointed I missed this place! Beyond amazing service and the food was incredible. Fresh seafood oysters and shrimp and the mussels were delicious. Michael was the most attentive bartender and went above and beyond. A must visit on the North Shore
Thank you

Shockingly bad given the price. The oysters were great. The calamari was good. The fish tacos were so bad I would be embarrassed if I served them. I couldn’t choke them down they were so dry. I repeatedly asked for something… anything.. to make them palatable. It took a half hour and multiple requests to multiple people just to get more sauce. It took another half hour to get the check and then the server ran away as I held the credit card out. Never a question about whether anything was good… they presumably knew the answer. For the first time in my life I thought about dining and dashing just to stop the pain.

It was ok, but deducting a star because of the extra 3% employee charges added to the bill

I came here with my family and we ordered 4 different entrees. All of them were super small portions and none of us liked the food in particular, though it wasn’t terrible. Also the server added a $30 entree that we didn't order to our bill.

Maybe the best Claim Chowder I’ve ever had. Not sure why this place does not have better reviews. Laid back, solid food and a good beer/wine in a tavern style vide.
