Came here for lunch with a quick turnaround to get back. Great food and even better service. Our waiter was highly attentive and gave great recommendations on sides and mains, and was super accommodating to gluten free needs. We ate the Brisket Plate and the Knuckle Sandwich and both were excellent. Knuckle Sandwich was a LOT of food, and I have a rather large appetite and found it difficult to finish. They had 3 house barbecue sauces on the table, all were delicious. The Texas one has a really unique sweet and smokey flavor that is definitely an acquired taste. It was quiet for a lunchtime hour, but they had great music selections and good seating and wall decor. Would definitely come here again to try more.

The food was room temp to cold. Granted bar-be-que is not usually served piping hit, but c'moooon! The food was so cold that I had to send it back. The temperature issue was kind of fixed, in that it was slightly warmer when the server brought out the food again. Taste of the food is meeeehhh. There's just no other way to put it. If you're in Wilmette and simply are too damn lazy to drive elsewhere AND you reaalllyyy want bar-be-que then maybe.....MMMAAAAYYYBE, you might consider this place. With that said, I assure you, that it will be the LAST TIME you'll ever be here.

The real deal when it comes to smoked meats. But kinda fancy for BBQ and expensive. Young staff and a flat Guiness tap. Good sauces and GREAT cornbread. Wack mac and cheese. But overall 8/10

Best kept secret! BBQ was very smokey and juicy and I loved the BBQ sauces, fun to try them all. We had the wings (Alabama white sauce is the best!). Cocktails were delish and service was prompt and attentive. Highly recommend!

Drove there only to find a sign that says...they're gone fishing. No expected day of return posted.

I would love to give Pit&Tap more than a single star, but I can't because I was never able to taste the food. My wife and I went there for the first time yesterday around 5:pm, we were seated quickly because the place wasn't very busy at the time. We then proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait. 20 minutes later still waiting. The servers were not busy, just chatting among themselves glancing our way but not making any moves to serve us. With around 14,000 restaurants in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, my wife and I were sure to find a restaurant that would be more than happy to accommodate us. So we left, and the funny thing is nobody even noticed. Keep up the fine customer service Pit&Tap!

I didn't eat anything, as I do not eat meat but I was there for a planning meeting. Everyone else devoured the food so I am sure it was yummy. The staff was so super nice and the cozy atmosphere was perfect, not too loud we could hear every one at the table even when the restaurant quite busy. A great new addition to downtown wilmette, definitely will be back and bring friends. Thank-you for being so gracious even when we stayed so late .

1st time coming here and was not impressed by the food especially for the price ( sandwich portion size seemed a bit small) My food came cold I decided to just eat it and leave as I was in a bit of a rush. This is a place I wouldn’t recommend to friends & family. Employees were nice.

Mediocre at best. Really wanted to like this place. Inattentive service got things off to a bad start. Burger was tasteless and on a stale bun. My serving of fries was all the little pieces instead of full cuts like I saw on other plates. Brisket was dry. Nothing really to recommend here - plenty of other restaurants on the block to check out.

I enjoyed my meal here. The food was good, and the holiday decor is off the chart! Definitely a reason on its own to visit. I had the brisket plate with elote, and I would probably order that again given the opportunity. I can't help but compare Pit & Tap to another barbecue restaurant closer to me: the food is similar, but Pit & Tap has a smaller menu and their prices are a little higher (which is to say, too high IMO). I understand that it's not necessarily apples to apples, but still... I admire their commitment to cleanliness and conservation by minimizing the use of paper menus in favor of QR codes so the menu can be viewed on a mobile device. My recommendation would be to make that process easier by having either open wifi or have the password readily available in case someone is experiencing difficulties with their carrier's connection. We shouldn't have to flag down a server to ask for the wifi password to view the menu.

Worst ribs ever. A waste of money, I tried it once and thought it was halfway decent. I don't know what I was thinking to try it again. Well never again for sure.
