A marvelous small pastry and coffee shop with a great variety of organic sweet treats! Love it! 😍. Nuns speak french and a little bit of English. All cakes look amazing and those I tried are to die for. Amazing fresh baked French bread and specialty crafted wine selection (buy for home only). Calm classical music adds the final touch to make your morning or afternoon coffee a remembering experience. I only would like to see some loose leaf tees on the menu. I strongly recommend visiting this place.

I purchased a chocolate tart from a couple of nuns tending a booth at a home show this morning. I have to report that it was the best chocolate tart I've ever had in my entire life. I've never tasted chocolate that good -- so rich, with the slightest tang. I plan on driving from Hinsdale to Wilmette to go their patisserie to enjoy some of the other tasty treats they have.

Place feels like a different era when you step inside. Its a nice cozy spot and the nuns are very friendly and welcoming. Bought a mini fondant which was a chocolate mousse pastry. Taste was fine.

We finally visited last night, and we’re really glad we did. We had a couple of decaf espressos and a slice of Moka cake, both of which were fantastic and very reasonably priced. The cake was rich and delicious, pairing perfectly with the smooth coffee.

One of the best things about St. Roger Abbey is that it stays open past 6 PM. It’s hard to find cafés around here that offer evening hours, so this is a welcome change. The inside is cozy and inviting, with lots of interesting decor to enjoy while you sit. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and take your time.

We noticed several other five-star reviews praising the quality of the pastries and the friendly service, and we have to agree. The staff was welcoming and made us feel right at home. It’s nice to find a local spot that combines great food with a friendly atmosphere.

We can’t believe we didn’t discover them sooner. We’re already planning our next visit to try more from their menu. If you’re in the area and looking for a great place to grab coffee and a treat, we highly recommend St. Roger Abbey. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Parking: Plenty of street parking but double-check the signs.

Small bakery in downtown Wilmette. They use fresh and high quality organic ingredients in their baked goods. Nuns are super friendly and the bakery raises money for food pantries and other charitable causes. Croissants, cookies and cakes are really tasty.
