We went to Avli for my husband's birthday on a friend's recommendation. Service was efficient but not rushed. We had a spread sampler (did not like being charged for extra pita though), beef kabob, gyro platter, and stuffed eggplant. All delicious. I appreciated that the wine list was relatively small but focused on highlighting wines from Greece... overall delicious.

SPIDERS and lots of them. We sat outside at a table near the wall and no less than 5 spiders came down the wall, or were going up and down from the ceiling netting to the table. We would have moved but the food had just arrived and it would have been to disruptive. We just abruptly left after a fast desert. Not sure if we will be going back, especially since Pomeroy is right next door.

We had a delicious dinner. My son has celiac and they are very cautious. We sat in the back room and it was lovely. We have never sat there before. This spot never disappoints!

It was a hot day, and we had the patio to ourselves. Waiter could have checked on us a bit more frequently (would have served more wine), but otherwise a great experience.

Have to say it was not a good experience. Food was OK nothing special and then the service was lacking. Ordered it flaming cheese didn't come with anything to eat it with so we ordered pita and it came after we finished the flaming cheese would probably skip this if I were you.

The menu and food quality are excellent and extraordinarily consistently excellent. The waiters are uniformly attentive, warm and kind. The dining rooms are clean, spacious and quiet places to dine. I love Avli.

Have walked by and driven past many times but never thought to stop in - I'm glad we finally did for a birthday. Service was impeccable. Staff was attentive and quick. Strong drinks. Food came out fast and hot. Options for everyone on the menu. We will be returning!

I live in California, but when I visit back home to Chicago, I always come to eat dinner at Avli!

This is a good neighborhood restaurant. I wasn't a fan of the revised recipe for spanakopita - I liked the previous preparation. I'd still recommend Avli if asked.

Have been to Avli for birthday celebration 2 years ago. Food and service were fabulous. Not so much this time for lunch. The salad I ordered was bland and did not get much better with more dressing. My salmon was overcooked and also not very tasty. They did present me with a nice birthday dessert which was very good. The other guests had a similar reaction to their lunch choices. I don't know if they changed chefs or if this was an off day. I probably won't be frequenting this location again.

Always enjoy the many traditional Greek food selections. Serving staff was very helpful and accommodating. Modest renovations/updates to the restaurant and bathroom areas would be appreciated. A good choice for dining in the suburbs for large groups or small.
