Wow I came here with my daughter the other day and had an amazing experience! The food was wonderful and it came out quick. My daughter won't stop talking about her pizza bagels! Lisa took my order and was incredibly helpful and friendly. The place was clean and felt very warm and inviting. What an amazing find, I will most definitely be back soon.

We love this place! Food is great, service is great and it’s always clean. The reason why I did not give them 5 starts is because they do not have a baby changing station!I already told them, but seems like there is no interest about it. We have a baby and it’s a bummer having to cross the street to change his dirty diaper at Starbucks.

Service has improved time-wise but beware of their juices and smoothies. They don't properly train their different food prep employees so it's different every time and lately not good. Quite expensive to be receiving mismade juice/smoothies.

Back at Hometown and wanted to try something else on the menu! Ordered the Anytime Toast and it was really good and filling. All for a great price. Service was efficient, especially for mid-morning on a Sunday. The inside is cute with a decent amount of seating as well as outdoor tables.

One thing that I cannot get past with sit down venues is the use of disposable plastic. They give out to-go cups for coffee and if you want a glass of water it's a plastic cup - and they don't recycle. No care about the environment whatsoever. Otherwise the interior atmosphere was nice, coffee tasted good, but food was just ok.

My fav coffee place in town! Great place to bring the kiddos to get treats too! Service is always amazing and the ambiance is a true coffeehouse vibe.

I came here to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in ages, and we opted to try a spot in Winnetka to avoid running into students or colleagues/former colleagues (as were both affiliated with NU lol). On a Thursday afternoon this place was super packed. We avoided NU students but I guess this is the place for New Trier students on their lunch hour, because a swarm came in around 1:15. I got there early and after waiting about 20 min, I was able to snag a table. It's a good sign for the business that every seat was taken, including the outdoor seats. I can't speak to the food, although my friend's avocado toast looked good. I had already had lunch so I just went with a decaf americano. It was very good. The cashier was super nice and helpful. The americano price is on par with other local places, but some of the other drinks do get a bit pricey, especially when subbing in non-dairy milk and such. Some of their toasts and bakery items sound amazing, so I am tempted to come back and try those next time.

Found myself in Winnetka and whilst here I thought I'd find a coffee shop, and Hometown was just down the street from the shop I'd visited. It's a very popular place and it's easy to see why. Staff are friendly enough and the food isn't bad. I ordered a bagel sandwich, chai latte, and a couple of their crystalized ginger cookies. The bagel sandwich wasn't anything to write home about; the bagel itself was actually pretty disappointing, like one of those soft bagels that you get from the bread aisle at the grocery store. But it was fine, and I was hungry, so I have no regrets. The cookie was really my favorite. I don't even like ginger, let alone big chunks of crystalized ginger (which weren't that big, but they were small chunks and I don't really love ginger) and though I fully expected to give one of these cookies to my significant other, I kept it for myself. If they have them and you're around, definitely treat yourself. Ordering is at the counter, but they bring your food out to you. I was a little surprised at the wait time, given their menu and the number of folks there, because they don't have a lot of variety on their menu--it's mostly bagel sandwiches, so no pancakes/omelets/etc. Even ordering a coffee it said the wait was 10-15 minutes... which is kind of astounding. However, perhaps if someone actually came in and just ordered coffee/juice, it would be shorter than that. There's counter seating as well as some tables and a small seating area of armchairs, to keep the place casual and comfy. The place is super clean which is what you want to see in a restaurant! They have heated outdoor seating, which is pretty awesome. The heating elements are underneath the awning, and it's actually pretty warm. I don't know how it would feel in 20° weather, but in 40° weather it seemed like it could be pretty comfortable as I was walking under them (and since there were several groups of folks in sitting out there it probably was nice). There's no dedicated parking, but a good deal of street parking along Lincoln and Elm right by their corner, and a couple blocks away (west of Green Bay Road) there's a parking lot for the downtown shopping district as well. They have heated outdoor seating, which is pretty awesome. The heating elements are underneath the awning, and it's actually pretty warm. I don't know how it would feel in 20° weather, but in 40° weather it was pretty comfortable.

Food and coffees were pretty good, on the pricier side as you'd expect for the area. Nice helpful staff.3 stars because they started email spamming me the day after I used my credit card there and I had to unsubscribe.

I always make a point to come here when I'm in the area. The space itself is clean and inviting. They have outdoor seating you can enjoy in nice days. I especially like the coffee and cookies. They have a big menu but I usually come for a drink. I appreciate that when they are busy they have estimates on the wall of expected wait times. It's also an extra nice touch that they bring your food to the table. The downtown has plenty of free parking.
