Jimoto is a great experience and excellent food. The apps and sushi are done very well. As a return customer, they are very consistent and it’s also a great dining environment.
My only comment would be about training the servers on the menu. Wasn’t sure if we had a new one last time, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, but he wasn’t familiar with the different tuna types on the menu (hamachi, otoro, etc). Still top notch, would highly recommend.

today we came to this place and we were met by two very unpleasant people, we did not reserve a table in advance (it was our mistake) and therefore instead of sushi we were offered to go eat American burgers, terrible attitude towards guests, very unfriendly

Have eaten here many many times and also carry out frequently. Carry out is great and dining in for DINNER is amazing. However, lunch was a bit disappointing. Fish didn’t taste as fresh (hamachi chewy) and sushi seemed partially prepped earlier in the day (ie shrimp tempura was cold and a little stale tasting). Lunch service was also not great. Server never checked to see how my meal was so I wasn’t able to correct or try to get something more fresh. Would highly recommend for dinner but maybe skip for lunch.

So glad I came across this place. I’ve been gravitating toward eating out in the suburbs nearby rather than deal with the hassle of driving all the way into the city for good sushi. This place completely surpassed my expectations. The appetizers and sushi we had were sooo good, reasonably priced, and the interior is so cute! (We got the edamame, tuna sushi bites, and for the sushi rolls: Godzilla & Smokey Bear.)
Will definitely be back again for their amazing sushi!

As always, the food, drinks and service at Jimoto were excellent. Both the basic sushi rolls and specialty rolls were fresh and flavorful. Our server, Claudia was knowledgable and attentive. With the windows open to a beautiful evening, the dining room was very comfortable.
Food is fantastic. Service was good too. But the dining room could use some work— the chairs are plastic and very short—not conducive to sitting for more than 30 minutes (and this is a 2 hour experience with the great drinks). Even my 5”5' girls were complaining when we got up to leave!
The ambience was really nice with a clean modern design. The staff was nice and the maki was delicious. The wagyu nigiri was not very good though. Had no flavor and was a tad bit chewy. Everything else was really good.
First time here. Very enjoyable. Food was very good. Gabi was a great server. Especially liked there was no music playing and it was easy to carry on a conversation. Only negative was the chairs are very cheap and flimsy.

First of all, the food was great. Very creative and fresh sushi, pretty reasonably priced. My one complaint is that our server, while pleasant, made us feel rushed and a little uncomfortable. Almost as soon as we sat down, she wanted to take our drink order and immediately asked if we were ready to order - we hadn't even looked at the menu yet! She stood at the table while we looked over the drink menu and we made our selections quickly. As soon as she put the drinks down, she asked again about ordering. We ordered an appetizer just to buy ourselves some time to relax and catch up over our drinks! With a half a plate of edamame still in front of us, she offered to take the dish away so we could order dinner. We weren't done! Every time we ordered something, she asked, "Anything else?" as if we needed to order more. After determining we weren't going to order dessert, she brought the check without our having asked for it, and stood at the table with the credit card reader so we would pay it immediately. I know this was Saturday night, but it was pretty early, and the restaurant was not full, so we weren't table hogging. All we wanted was a relaxing evening out to catch up with friends. I also know that none of these things in isolation seems so egregious, but it tainted our experience.

I was an early customer at Jimoto and was impressed with their superb quality, I was excited about their food. However, during my recent visit, while the food was good, the portions were noticeably smaller, making it pricier. The nigiri remains excellent but way smaller, and the Godzilla roll had too much cream cheese for my taste, and the hand rolls were not as good as I remembered. On the bright side, the service is great—staff, owner, and bartender are all very nice. One downside was the early cleanup around 9:30 p.m., which was a bit disruptive.
Overall, a good experience.

We sat down for my birthday and no one came to our table to even give us water for 10 minutes until we asked the host. We had a similar experience the first time we came here. The food is very good but the service is very lackluster.
We had been looking forward to trying Jimoto after reading all the fantastic reviews about the food and seeing the photos of the lovely interior! The ambiance is 5 stars and our waitress was lovely but unfortunately we were a bit disappointed as the food was “good” but nothing stand out. The rolls lacked flavor and sashimi cuts (hamachi and Otoro) were just okay.
