We absolutely the food, service, and vibe at Jimoto and have been here a number of times. Last night we went with friends (& fellow sushi-lovers) who experienced Jimoto for the first time. They also loved it and swore to return soon. We went for the "Happy Hour" and were happy we did. We ate our weight in sushi rolls and cucumber salad. It was a very nice, delicious, and moderately-priced dinner, even with six glasses of wine and a beer. We will be back soon; Happy Hour or not.

LOVE JIMOTO. Food is delicious. I must say, if you're looking for great sushi, this is the place to be. Drinks are also on point!

Tables are very close together but you get a great variety of quality sushi. Great selection of hot teas. Definitely a good find in Winnetka. Be sure to check out their weekday happy hour sushi selections.

We really liked this sushi spot in winnetka. There was plenty of parking and the restaurant is beautiful inside. The rolls were very unique and that is what we love in a new sushi spot. Sashimi and hamachi had some subtle creativity we had never seen before. Full bar, plenty of seating. Winnetka dining is starting to rival some of Chicago's restaurants, which was missing here. Good work!

Food and service were amazing, decor is great. Our only complaing was it was kind of cold. We were sitting at the front by the windows and could feel the chill through the banquet seat. It was a cold and damp night, so that didn't help. Otherwise fantastic and we will definitely return and request a table away from the windows.

Room volume was way too loud when we sat. Interestingly enough within twenty minutes there were quite a few tables that cleared. We asked them to turn down the volume and they complied. Excellent service and food.

Location:Downtown Winnetka. Easy street parking.Ambiance:Super pretty, romantic, all good things. Definitely a date spot & people watching. Food:Sadly, mediocre. I sent a bad sushi salmon roll back after eating 2 pieces. Had bad food poisoning the next day. We ordered 3 different sushi rolls. Only one was good. We ordered all 3 based on waitress recommendations & they ran about over $20 per roll each. Service:The manager came over to talk about sending the sushi back, well, sort of, she insisted the fish is fresh to me. Maybe if she ate a piece, she could verify it's bad....before contesting my claim. I eat a lot of sushi. I know if it's bad...they did accept the return with no fuss. I've had much better service elsewhere where they were extremely apologetic, etc. Overall:I would not be back. Sushi is really bad. Service is lacking too.

Lively sushi spot with outstanding service. I had a spicy tuna roll which was just OK. It wasn't spicy enough and the tuna was sort of mashed inside the roll, leaving a soggy feeling in my mouth. I'm always looking for north suburban spots for work gatherings, but they'll have to step it up a notch for me to return. As for the solution to the soggy spicy tuna roll, here's my suggestion: change it to a spicy tuna on crispy rice like my favorite Chicago spot on Broadway in Uptown. They call it a spicy tuna rice crispy but you'll have to give it your own name. But if you call it spicy you gotta deliver.

I was blown away. My favorite thing we had was the wagyu beef sashimi. Service was excellent in the quality was outstanding. I'll be back for sure. I'm surprised I never heard of this place before. Super friendly and very attentive. This place is a cut above the rest. Might be my new favorite in the area. Believe it or not, the California roll is a must order. Yes, yes it's the "beginner" roll and not really sushi or whatever else you want to say about a California roll. But this place brings it to the next level. I should have ordered multiples.

I absolutely loved Jimoto! Just moved here from San Diego, where sushi was great and this was still my absolute favorite! Can’t wait to go back!

We had a great dinner at Jimoto. The three rolls we ordered were all phenomenal. The sushi bite appetizers were a little tricky to eat: rice was crispy but a little too tough to chew through. But all else was great. Our server was lovely. This was my second time dining at jimoto and I did think it was a little chilly in there both times. But otherwise the atmosphere is nice.

We had dinner with family and friends last night. It was busy Sat night, but the staff and service were quite good. It is fairly small place, with tables a bit too close to each other, and not much of atmosphere to write about. The prices are on a higher end, and I expected high quality super fresh sashimi, nigiri, and rolls. The rainbow roll was ok at best, sashimi combo had fresh varied fish as I assumed to be, but without "wow" factor. The fish was cut very thin too. Hamachi carpaccio appetizer was probably the best selection from what we ordered. Downtown Winnetka is nice place to stroll around and get a dinner, bit I am somewhat of sushi connoisseur, and simply expected more.
