First and foremost, the staff of any restaurant are the ones that truly keep an establishment running and thriving and are the heart and representation of the business.The hostess / order-taker and crew at Stacked and Folded, were super friendly to us and offered such great customer service!The atmosphere inside is very nice and offers an elevated casyal food experience.Even though the average taco is around $6.50, it is very large and offers a lot of the actual ingredients. This was the case with my short rib taco. The short rib taco did offer a little bit of that spicy hot but not too much which was good, and yes, was slightly sweet in the sauce as advertised. Overall, the flavor combination was very good and would rate it a 3.9 out of 5. It was just tender and juicy enough, but could even be a little bit more tender in the meat. I know it is not easy when it comes to short ribs and believe me they did a good job here! It is worth getting!We had also ordered the short rib sandwich, but I recommend to have the short rib in the taco form. It just taste even better with the corn tortillas!The sweet potato fries are a five out of five star! Some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They are cooked perfection, and have that right texture on the outside and perfect on the inside. Amazing.Now as a cook, my (James’) critique is focused on the shrimp taco. Like every other item, Katherine and I had, the shrimp taco is made in a very fresh and flavorful, non-greasy and healthy tasting manner.What observations and what can be worked on from the creators of the menu is the following:The shrimp in your shrimp tacos-at least when we visited—was just plain cooked shrimp and was actually dry. My advice based on the best shrimp tacos I have ever encountered or made are taking thawed raw shrimp, then marinate them of course, and grill them briefly and just right so that they come out juicy and tender and with that amazing flavor profile.That would make your shrimp tacos a five out of five.

I ordered the Cheesesteak and not only did it taste meh it fell apart so I wasnt even able to properly eat it. Additionally, when I ordered the guy behind the register was cold and rude and walked away as soon as I approached.....Lastly, the prices here are absolutely INSANE. Almost $20 for a regular size sandwich and a few fries is a total RIPOFF. Overall, very disappointed and will never return and will tell other people to STAY AWAY

Two things stood out to me as I walked into Stacked & Folded for the first time. First was the friendliness of the staff ready to answer any menu questions I had. Second was the amount of regulars that came in while I was waiting for my food. The customers that came in already knew what they wanted and chatted a bit with the staff. It wasn't overly busy when I was there. I took a bit of a late lunch. It was very clean and the staff was busy putting together to go orders. There were so many delicious sounding options on the menu. I decided to get the short rib banh mi with tater tots. I was really tempted to get the sweet potato fries, but couldn't pass up tater tots. My food came out fairly quickly and it looked delicious. The tater tots were crispy golden brown. And that's exactly what they were crispy and crunchy. The main part of my meal looked great as well. I was so glad that I came across this place. This banh mi was tasty. The meat was cooked well and tender. The Serrano aioli glued the sandwich together. I want to come back and I will come back. I have so much more to try.

Stacked & Folded has become one of our go-to places in Winnetka. Their food is delicious and take-out orders are usually ready in 15-20 minutes! Highly recommend if you haven’t tried yet.

Jyst had Rudy's Greek-style Chicken with potatoes and green beans-absolutely delicious! My husband had the Cajun Chicken Alfredo which was outstanding! Would highly recommend both dishes! Love Stacked and Folded!!!

A few months ago, I ordered a side of tater tots with my Cuban sandwich and the tots were burned and tasted like burned onions. Fast forward s few months later to today, the tater tots are still burned. Not only do they still taste like burned onions, they are visibly burned. It looks like the Stack and Folded need to review the temperature or amount of time they're deep frying their tater tots because it's off. The braised beef stew was also prepared cold even though the menu didn't indicate it. I don't think this place is worth patronizing any longer unless you want to pay $5 for a side of tater tots that taste like burned onions and cold beef stew.Edit: Apparently, another customer had a similar complaint about Stack and Folded's tater tots tasting like burned onions dated in 2022 on Yelp.

Winnetka Saturday. Located in retail area near Home Alone house if you're a movie nerd. Pretty innovative menu. I had some tacos - good portion size and very tasty. Wife had a nice over sized turkey sandwich in some artisan bread. Easy choice. Recommended in North Cook Co.

Stacked and Folded is a gem. We visit at least 3 times a month. The sandwiches(Stacked) are amazing. Love the buggogi sandwich. Tater tots are so crispy and flavorful. Cheese curds are amazing. The staff is especially helpful.
Great comfort food. The cheesesteak and Banh Mi are both excellent and the loaded tots are a must!

Great casual spot for tacos, burgers, or sandwiches. Not too many seats inside, but during the summer it's nice to sit outside and enjoy people watching. The Cuban was a very generous size, yummy, and came with perfectly done fries. The braised short rib quesadilla was massive and the meat had just the right kick to it. I never really found the cheese, but the meat was delicious. One of us needs gluten free (gf) and it was great to see lots of options. Oddly you can get gf chicken in a salad, but not gf chicken in the tacos. The steak tacos did not disappoint tho. A small nit is that I really wish they offered prepackaged margaritas along with the other alcoholic canned beverages. We will definitely be back!

I've been obsessed with stacked and folded for about 2 years now. They're portions are humongous and they're sandwiches are unbelievable. My favorite is the chicken Parmesan sandwich and I also got a side of tator tots which were amazing. I didn't eat inside because I was in a rush so I can't say much about the indoor seating or ambiance but the food doesn't disappoint. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 is because my sandwich was about $18 which is a big pricey.
