This was my first time trying out this café. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and there was hair inside the biscuit. I tried to pull it out but it was embedded in the middle of the biscuit I got so grossed out and I didn’t want to eat anymore. I went up to a worker. I showed her what happened she just looked at me and said that she was sorry. She offered to make a new one. I didn’t get her name, but she was wearing a white headband and also had one earbud in her ear. So who knows if she even cared or not.
The place was nice inside and unfortunately we will not be coming back because it grossed everyone out.
I wasn’t going to write this but when reading other reviews of this place I saw another post about a hair inside food and this is unbelievable.

The most disgusting soup I ever tried.
Chai latte as well. Both too sour. Idk why.
Anyway croissant, salmon and steak were pretty good. No poached eggs.
Too loud.
First and last time here

No computers allowed? Seriously? As a paying customer, I am just perplexed why they would prohibit their patrons from doing their work at a cafe?

Didn't eat here though the food looked good. Came for The Home Alone Theme.

I ordered steak and egg for the third time, over the last few months. The first time, the meat was tender and juicy. The next 2 times, the quality of the meat had been obviously and seriously downgraded, hard and chewy.
Please be consistant, it does not do any good for your reputation. It would be a shame for such a nice restaurant.
It’s not easy to do but somehow they created a space that is bright spacious and cozy all around once. Chai cider was on point. Kind helpful service. I will return.

Went here for breakfast with my mom and loved it! We shared the tomatoes & burrata (added prosciutto), miso-glazed salmon bowl (I added egg and avocado for extra protein), and the breakfast sandwich (highly recommend swapping the biscuit for a croissant). Drinks were the matcha latte and the hot apple cider (fall special)—both were great.
The space is bright and roomy with plenty of natural light, and the staff was super friendly. Note: a handful of tables are laptop-free between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

I was not initially going to write a review; that’s why I called them over the phone. I had told them that it was really disgusting and gross that there was a hair embedded in their cookie, and I specifically said I’m calling to just let them know that we don’t want this to happen to other people. I am not upset that the girl who answered the phone didn’t care at all… because she’s not the one who made the cookie, but she didn’t even try to give a response other than a monotone “Oh sorry, I’ll tell my manager.” No offer to make things right, no offer to replace the cookie, and no sign of caring. I didn’t even want another cookie, but out of shock at no mention of compensation, I said something along the lines of “You won’t even replace the cookie?” Then she, confused, finally offered to give us another cookie the next time we come in (we won’t be coming back in).
We would’ve at the very least appreciated some sort of genuine apology and appreciation for the heads up, especially after I almost threw up almost consuming someone’s hair! I know she’s probably a part-time worker, but she still represents Towne & Oak. I’m kind of upset right now at the way this case was treated, which is why I am writing this review.
The good: This is a beautiful, naturally lit place to enjoy a pastry or have breakfast.
The Ok: The food was not bad, but I would not have a craving to go back for it. The soft scramble and salmon bowl were both decent. The pancakes didn't come with syrup, and the Matcha was not good.
The bad: The service here is not good; they will make faces if you ask for any customizations to your order and act like they're doing you a favor. The one friendly server was a young gentleman with darker skin and dreadlocks. The owner/manager(middle-aged dark-haired woman) definitely had a problem with us. I am sure it was race-related because nothing else stood out about us; we were appropriately dressed, had our two kids, and so did most other people. She gave us several disgusted looks and made remarks about us to a man sitting at the countertop, having breakfast with two kids. He turned around to glare at us after she made her comments. At first I brushed it off and wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, after all why would she make comments about us to another customer, but after several odd looks, I felt extremely uneasy, and I found out the man she was talking to was her family, likely making her comfortable enough to share her unfiltered thoughts with.
She accomplished her mission of making us feel so uneasy that we will not return here.

One would expect better quality of food and service for these prices. Small portions and slow, ineffective service. Also very loud making it difficult to converse. The pretty decor is the only attribute here.

Very very loud in here. Such a cute place but the echos are extremely obnoxious.

Came for brunch with a friend and was disappointed with the experience. Ordered the French omelette and it was just a normal omelette with goat cheese. The vegetables were not fresh and ends had turned brown. The service was below average as the servers were rude: bumped into me while I’m seated and didn’t acknowledge or apologize, didn’t provide silverware when served the order, and took my plate away before I was done with the meal. Would recommend some etiquette and serving lessons for the team. Inside was also not well designed for sound was extremely loud.
