Avoid this place. We waited an hour once we had put our order in. Waitress messed up several things, manager gave 50% off one wrong meal. They did nothing to compensate for the extremely poor service. Two hours later, $80 out the window for crap food.

The food was good. This was the fourth time I ate there. However this time the service was bad. The manager ended up bringing my food to the table. Then shortly after receiving my food a waitress came by for the one and only time asking me how my food was. I never saw the waitress again. So I was never able to ask for extra napkins. Then when I had finished eating I sat my phone on the table and noted what time it was. I sat there waiting for my waitress to bring my check for 15 minutes and then I gave up on the waitress and walked up to the manager so I could pay and leave. Hopefully if I give the restaurant another try the service will have improved.

The best coffee, the best bacon, the best crepes, avocado toast and Dubai waffles! This is my favorite breakfast place. Service is always friendly and fast. The menu is really amazing, I've had most of it and just everything is really good.

I decided to try a new place for breakfast. I did not make a mistake! This cozy restaurant was delightful. The parking was easy, right outside. Handicapped accessible entry and seating. Restrooms were clean and stocked. Yes, it's family oriented and child friendly. The outside seating and decor was inviting. The interior was modern. The seating choices were counter, table or booths. Rebecca, my server, was very sweet and attentive. I was treated as a relative rather than a guest. The menu offered a variety of entrees and sides. They offer a choice of beverages, and the roast was perfect on the coffee. The presentation was good, quantity was large, and taste was fresh and delicious. I loved it, although the portion was too large to finish. I did enjoy the leftover the following morning. I definitely recommend Jan n' Jelly Cafe. I plan to return and if you haven't, give them a try. I give 5 stars across the board!

It was almost like there was a little too much food for the price which is usually good. They have very comical, movie-like toast. The price is fairly reasonable and I was even given free coffee because the waitress thought she served me too slowly. She was right so I just gave her more of a tip than I had planned if the total hadn't gone down. They have decently large cups of coffee good sized eggs and generous portions of hash browns.
The atmosphere is a little unsettling because of the way the tables are angled in the middle of the restaurant relative to all of the other straight booths. Give me like a 90s bar vibe.

We've been here 3 times and it got progressively worse every time, but this last time was the worst, not only was the bill almost 60 bucks with tip for a Chicken sandwich(which was just ok) and avocado toast plate that was a extreme rip off...one piece of toast, barely a smear of avocado...5 dollars extra for a small piece of lox and 2 dollars extra for gluten free bread(1 slice) when it was all said and done it was over 20.... Absolutely ridiculous, server was ok at best. We will not be coming back again.
The breakfast is good but after this we'll just go somewhere else.

This was our first stop on a long weekend trip to Chicago and breakfast was absolutely fabulous! Everyone in our group chose omelets, and the food was great! Service was even better! Highly recommend.

August 2025 update. Idk what happened this place used to be pretty good. The service is sub-par, very sluggish and not very helpful or friendly. Then there's the food, I was with a party of 5 and we all got different dishes and neither of us was satisfied with the food considering the price. The pancakes were mushy, the toast was only toasted on the one side, the hash browns we're brown at all, the bacon was burnt and yet oily or probably microwaved/reheated. The coffee at a gas station is tastier. I found no redeeming qualities to this place.

Came in for breakfast, ordered ham and cheese omelette. Hash browns and Toast were lukewarm and underdone when they got to table. Omelette was good. Restaurant was barely a third full and was already cacophonous, very bad acoustics. Was only offered coffee twice and server's fake nails were big enough to restrict plate handling and protude into inner food area. Prices are Not competitive when compared to similar and better establishments in the vicinity. Might give it another chance but not anytime soon.

First time coming here and if we need to drive 20 miles for breakfast again, I'm doing it. The food & service was great. Didn't get to take pics because from the first bite, I was locked in. I don't like everyone's pancakes but there was something different about them like a hint of vanilla. I had the Grecian omelet with gyro meat without feta and enjoyed every bite.

I visited this area to spend time with my friend and we came here TWICE because we loved it so much. The first time, we accidentally came near closing and it was very quiet, but the staff didn't seem to be bothered by us being there so late (though we did make a point to leave before close). Our waiter even joked with us a little bit, though I can't remember her name, it was a lovely start to our day. The second time we were helped by Bernie, who was very polite and gentle. All service came with a smile and the food was EXCEPTIONAL. I even forgot to try the jelly because I was preoccupied with my meal. Next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely going back. It's so nice in there and it's very cozy. Great work on your business, I hope it lasts forever.

The food was very good and a bit decadent. Dollar Pancakes for kids and sausage patties and eggs were great. Looking forward to trying some of the other selections!

Had a fantastic experience at Jam n’ Jelly! Pavle and Megan were amazing servers — super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Great service all around, also love the Country Fried Steak and Eggs. Hopefully that stays as a staple on the menu ;-)
