Great little hole in the wall feel. But the food is top notch. You won't be disappointed.
Note : they are reservation only. And usually booked out a full month in advance.

Wheelchair accessibility: The main dinner hall is up a set of stair. But there are two tables in the "porch" area that are accessible.

My wife and I ate dinner here last night. It was our first visit, it won’t be our last. We both thought the food was excellent. We started with the house tomato soup, which was very good. My wife had the parmesan encrusted pork loin (Perkinsville Pork) and I had the lamb chops. For dessert, we had the sugar cream cake with blueberries. Our server Courtney was excellent. She explained the menu items and how each dish was prepared. While the menu is limited, there were a number of things that sounded excellent. We did not have any alcohol and our meal was $85 plus tip.

We found the atmosphere a little lacking (at first) as when we first entered the restaurant we were not greeted by anyone. There is simply a sign on the doors telling you to wait on the porch. A gentleman (who I assume was the owner) came out and seated us. He did not appear overjoyed to see us or to deal with us. Inside the atmosphere was lively, and the staff all very friendly and engaging.

We will definitely come back.

Entertained guests for their first prime rib night. They raved about the quality of the beef and overall service. Although it took weeks to obtain a reservation for prime rib, it was worth the wait.

Don't be fooled by the location, the decor, or the menu. The focus is clearly on the food without all of the pretentiousness of more expensive places. They could easily compete in any market. The flavors were outstanding. It was like getting kissed by an angel.

Great food, service and atmosphere! I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a special place for a special occasion. The building isn't fancy but, everything about the place will make up for the looks of the building.

Update: We went again and had a pretty good experience. i got the New York Strip, and it was cooked perfectly and had a lot of great flavor! I was excited they no longer had the potato souffle and now have mashed potatos which were really good! The vegetable was asparagus, and i loved the flavor of it but was disappointed they only gave me 2 stalks, more of a garnishment than a side. All in all a good experience other than the lack of asparagus.

This place is am all around great establishment! Have heard of this place for years and just made it last week. The food is amazing, the staff was great and the overall atmosphere was really good. Chip was our server, and he was very helpful and a great server. I started with the wedge salad and blue cheese dressing, it was awesome. the blue cheese dressing is mild in blue cheese flavor.but plentiful in flavor overall. For my entree, I got the prime rib, and it was the best I've ever had without a doubt. I didn't love the potato souffle, but it was good none the less. The jalepeno cornbread was noist and delicious!!

Awesome place. The food is great. The portions are huge. You can tailgate there and have drinks and snacks in the parking lot. They don't take reservations.

Addison was exceptional with our large party on Saturday night. He was knowledgeable about the menu, and took care of us and our friends with friendliness and expertise. Also, the house manager did an incredible job at finding a way to accommodate all ten of us even though our reservation had been accidentally cancelled. This place is a central Indiana treasure and I would recommend you go there, but it would be harder for me to get a table if you did.

Went to Bonge’s Tavern a few weeks ago, food and the atmosphere was spectacular. I enjoyed the Pork Chop “holy cow” ? it was a monster, fed me for 3 meals. We also enjoyed the Perkinsville Pork as an appetizer. My wife enjoyed the Sockeye Salmon, really tasty. Jake the place was money, we’ll be back! Yes, it’s worth the drive!

6 of us for dinner. Great service and great food. Got all of the appetizers and 2 of the mushrooms with goat cheese! 3 pork chops... we could have shared! 2 perkinsville pork. And 1 Halibut. Everything was great. Sugar cream pie cake and Forester 23rd birthday for desert. Always a good time, great food, and great service.

The Bonge's experience was awesome again! We are repeat customers and worth the drive! Food is great, service great (had waiter Chip last night), tailgating is fun, the weather even cooperated! Best of all, now taking reservations!! Meaning no more table roulette.

This was our 3 visit to Bonges Tavern in 3 years, and it did not disappoint. We were a party of 6 and 4 of the group had never been to Bonges Tavern. There were several groups of tailgaters in the parking lot. Our table was ready as promised and the service was super! The menu was great and the food taste and presentation was fabulous. We had a great evening. It does get loud in the restaruant as it is a small place, but a fun environment.
