Best beer in town!

Brittney Winborn

The Fleeting Youth Cider, pretzel, and chicken club sandwich were all incredibly delicious. Our server was top-notch as well!
We also enjoyed the variety of the rock playlist.

We live like Taxman. Normally the food 🥘 is very good, but my tenderloin was overcooked and very gristly. My wife’s chicken club sandwich was very good. The remaining party liked their dinner as well. Our excellent waitress, Melany did tell the cook about my tenderloin and apologized.

Just common hamburger and with soggy fries. Wait staff excelled.

Hostess were nice but about the only good thing about this place. We got sat down quickly but it took quite a while to get a drink order. We ordered 2 items and the pretzel was quick but the burger took quite a while. We didn’t have a server come check on us once until we had to pay. The burger wasn’t anything special and it was 22 dollars just for the burger and fries, a little salty in my opinion. Menu didn’t have a lot to chose from and the burger was a little over done. Won’t come back.

I usually try to avoid writing a less than stellar review, but in this case, it feels warranted. This restaurant has been my family's favorite place for brunch for the last several years. Special occasions such as birthdays, mother's day, father's day, etc we enjoy the restaurant so much that the 45-50 minute drive was inconsequential, and we've always made reservations. However, our most recent visit for mother's day was disappointing at best. The portions have decreased, which I understand, because the prices don't seem to have increased. However, the quality also seems to have decreased significantly. Waffles that used to be fresh made in-house now appear to be frozen eggo toaster waffles. The biscuits, which have always been freshly baked, fluffy, and tall now look like they came out of a tray. The fruit cup used to be a bowl of mixed cut fruit (think grapes, melon, pineapple, etc) was now a tiny bowl (maybe 4 cut strawberries, max) with a sweet whipped cream. The beer and the service were still what we have grown to expect, given the holiday and we really don't have any complaints. Our next special occasion or holiday to celebrate with brunch will likely have us searching for a new favorite spot.

I have always wanted to try Taxman since it is a local name. Unfortunately this was such a disappointing experience and can say with certainty that I will not be back. We were there for brunch around 2pm on Mother’s Day. We were prepared for slower service, but this was just negligent. To start, we were sat upstairs even though we had an infant with a high chair. We were told downstairs seating was not available despite open tables. Hauling a baby and diaper bag up the stairs is not ideal. Our server, Jill, was polite but hardly seen. It took about 15 minutes to get the first round of drinks (sodas). It took well over an hour to get our food (breakfast food). The food was lukewarm when it arrived. We had no silverware. We flagged down several staff and kept receiving responses of “I’ll let your server know.” as we watched our food grow more cold. We were finally told that the kitchen was out of silverware and we would have to wait for more to be washed. We received silverware around 15 minutes after our food had arrived. Now for the food. A steak and eggs meal ordered medium rare was beyond well done. The plate was also missing the hollandaise sauce that the menu states it comes with. No biggie. We asked a staff member, who told us “it doesn’t come with that.”. Upon pulling up the menu on the website to show him, he realized his mistake and brought some out. Another plate had a visible hair on top. The experience somehow just kept getting worse. The food quality was just a huge disappointment for how long we waited. At this point, drinks were gone again. No server in sight, so we had to approach the bar tender for assistance. Finally we are brought out the check, we have been at the restaurant for close to two hours. It is important to note that it was not busy at this time. Several tables were empty and business was slowing. I see to make up for our “trouble”, the item with a hair was partially comped. We were also given a minimal “locals discount” of some kind. We are waiting, and waiting, and waiting to pay. We make eye contact with our server who is socializing at the bar area with coworkers. Somehow she doesn’t see us, so we had to approach and ask her to please come take the check so we could leave.

This whole experience was so so frustrating. This was my first Mother’s Day and I was so excited to finally try Taxman. I made the almost hour drive with my family to eat here. I RARELY give negative reviews because I support local business and am a former restaurant worker. I get it. But there is absolutely no excuse for how poor the service, food, and overall experience was. Especially in this economy and the cost of dining out, there are better places to waste your money. I will not be back.

Great food especially the Brussels sprouts, fried fish, and butter cake. “Wedge” chopped salad was alright but a little lackluster. The Brussels and cake were to die for would come for just those! Also appreciate how they had non alcoholic beer.

I always used to get the salmon Benedict for lunch and it was taken off the menu. Had to come today as it was in for the Easter specials. So amazing!!! Please bring it back! The salmon sandwich too!!

This was a true gem find. While exploring new areas around my community we found this brewery and stopped in. The service and food was great. The beer was even better. I highly recommend giving it a shot if your ever in the area.

I ordered the French dip sandwich for take out and I can’t believe they served this. In the nicest way possible I recommend removing this from the menu completely. I usually don’t write bad reviews but I was extremely
disappointed in the flavor and quality.
