I saw really good reviews and I was excited to try this place. The staff was very nice. I was unimpressed with my food I ordered the hangover with jalapeño cheddar bagel. I waited about 15 minutes for it to be lukewarm at best! I also ordered a hash brown and drink. Overall the bagel was very bland with so many ingredients and meats on it. My total was $16. A little pricey and long wait for something that was not piping hot.

Cashier was nice and chipper with the young person in front of me, then when I, the 45 yo mom with my 10 yo, walked up to order, her demeanor and tone were judgmental. Also, the coffee was incredibly overpriced and not worth even half the price. Not inly do you have to pour your own overpriced coffee, but apparently ask where the coffee is and if we're supposed to get our coffee order ourselves!

The bagels aren’t that bad and the location is the best in the city, But those bagels are too goddamn thick and I keep getting told that they’re gonna fix this but they haven’t. I feel like I’m eating more bread than anything else.

Vibes are great, and food taste amazing. but every time I’ve been here I’ve never been able to order what I actually want due to items being sold out. Wait time for you food is 15-20 minutes. I really have tried to love this place, but have been repeatedly disappointed:(

I have tried bagels all over the world. They are my favorite and I scope them out before we even arrive lol. All of this to say that Bloomington Bagel Co is still my favorite. The crust never disappoints and their schmears are so good. If you’re looking for authentic bagels, here’s your spot.
I had an incredibly disappointing experience here on April 13, 2025 around 3 PM. First, I accidentally walked toward the staff area and was snapped at rudely instead of being politely redirected. Then, a staff member spoke to my friend, who has special needs, in an extremely condescending and sarcastic tone. She was standing on a chair, and instead of calmly addressing the situation, she loudly and in an extremely rude tone said, “Get off, what are you doing? This is unprofessional,” while glaring at us the entire time.
To make matters worse, another employee began hovering near our table while cleaning, clearly eavesdropping, then walked back to the group of staff, after which they all turned and stared at us with judgmental expressions. We were also the only Indian customers in the store, and it’s hard not to feel like we were being singled out.
If you’re looking for a place to be treated with disrespect, this is it. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone who values kindness, inclusivity, or basic customer service.
Edit: owner of the business personally reached out to me to make things right but didn't really follow through.

I ordered a poppyseed bagel with the garlic herb cream cheese. So yummy! We got our food fast and the restaurant was very clean. Overall amazing vibes, definitely will come back next time I'm in town.
