It was a busy weekend in Bloomington to we same here really as our only option. The food was subpar and the service was horrible.
The atmosphere is very classy, wonderful drink menu. Perfect place for visitors especially parents! Food was absolutely amazing!
Our order of artichoke and spinach dip with pita was overwhelmingly oily. The dip was mostly melted cheese, and the pita bread deep- fried. The artichokes, if any, were not readily visible. The oiliness of the hors d'oeuvre made the main dish—lobster ravioli, with a milky cream sauce—unappealing. Overall, too much oil and cream for our taste. Our server was good, but we don't intend to go back for another meal.
Everything took forever. Drinks 45 minutes, apps 30 minutes the dinner another 45 minutes and the chicken parm dinner was so dry and over cooked. Very disappointing. I felt bad for our server it was not her fault.
First time at Che Bello. Only had a pizza, but it was very good! The Old Fashioned was well made and generous. I'll be back.
Outstanding family dinner. Everything from the food to the service to the ambience, was phenomenal. 110% recommended.
This is a very decent nice italian restaurant in a college town - a place for visiting parents to take their students. It has a nice front section and a back section with bigger tables. From fried ravioli to chicken parm to pastas and pizzas, Che Bello gives a good selection, and in our 4-person party, everyone enjoyed their food. Probably a little sedate/upscale for students to go to on their own, but perfect for a good italian meal with family.
The restaurant is lovely, the menu reads well, lots of choices but not overwhelming, and everything on it sounds delicious. The food was very good, our waitress was attentive and accommodating but not hovering, Enjoyable time. But it almost didn't happen because the door had a shabby torn piece of paper with "Reservations Only" scribbled on it. We began to walk away when some diners came out and said go in, there is NO ONE in there. So we did, and the place was empty. There were three staff at the front podium, and when I asked if they had an opening, I was assured, "Reservation only, reservation only, sorry, reservation only." The implication being - we are all booked up. Then, as we turned to leave, one of the staff said, "You could try Open Table for a reservation." OK - maybe lead with that? A nice sign that says, "Reservation Only. Please Use Open Table to Reserve." I really wanted to just walk away, but my daughter was here from out of town and really wanted to try Che Bello, so we made a reservation on Open Table and were there about an hour, during which 75% of the restaurant was empty.
Nice selection of menu items. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The service was adequate, nice young lady who got distracted a bit towards the end so we had to flag her down. The restaurant is clean and open, but it could have some cozy spots for date night and definitely should up their game in the ladies room.
Excellent place to take our son for his college sendoff. They easily accommodated my gluten allergy and made sure the sub was tasty!

Very good dinner at Che Bello. Wine list was decent, and markups were not that bad. Food was excellent. Even though we asked for our risotto to be switched between my steak and wife's salmon, but that didnt happen which seemed silly. But all good, would go again.
Our food was delicious, and the server friendly and helpful. The decor and ambiance are lovely. We went early enough that it was uncrowded, but I hope business picked up later -- I want this restaurant to stay around!
I've asked for a slice of cake and a candle when making the reservation. The wait staff didn't even know when we asked about it after our meal. Almost $300 meal for four people with just spaghetti, burger, salmon and steak and a 2 drinks is a bit much. Didnt realize they also charge for the small portion of salad that was served before the meal.
Terrible experience, staff ignores you from the beginning till the end, food mediocre - salmon overcooked, meat balls pasta look warm and way over priced for what it is. Very disappointing experience overall!
Absolutely HORRIBLE. It was graduation so we expected slow service. Well we got it (2.5 hours for dinner and over a 75 minute wait for food.) Our server was terrible - we had to ask for everything multiple times, she described Tuscan soup as “meat soup” until I asked her to go back and clarify with someone who knew (it was really potato leak with sausage.) And the WORST part is that they had a special graduation menu that was incredibly limited and they more than doubled their regular prices. Spaghetti and meatballs was $48 flipping dollars. I ordered a main dish salad for $18 and they brought out a side salad. The “mushroom risotto” was just fluffy rice with no seasoning, no sauce and about 1 tablespoon of mushrooms. Do yourself a favor and absolutely avoid this place for any graduation or special event. Our bill for four (no drinks) ended up over $240.
