Fat Dan's Deli

Not sure about the other locations but the food and service are spot on at the Bloomington location.
Here for work and have been there twice so far. Had the smoked wings the other day for lunch and they were super good and tonight I had the Fat Cubano (or something to that effect)
The only draw back, to me anyway, was beer only but beyond that I fully recommend.

Great place for lunch we stop often when visiting our boys at school. Love the brown paper that they serve the order (very large) of fries on- servings are big and hearty - great place to watch the games too.

I liked the beer listing and good chats with Melissa the bar tender. I would go back. The smoked wings were solid, I must say. So was the hot beef sandwich with hot peppers.

I brought a group of friends in for a birthday party and everything was PERFECT. They kept the cake on the fridge for us, food was super fast and hot even though it was a table of 12. Our server was an absolute delight and it really was the perfect place to throw a little celebration. I’ve always loved fat dans but after last night It’s jumped to the top of my list for local places that do things the right way.

Wings are so so good but I have to say I know its not Chicago thing but where's the ranch!?!?! Seriously Dan it's 2025 :)

How did I not know about this hidden jam in IU? I passed by this place so many times and really didn’t know that inside is this big. Restaurant really tried to make it look like you are walking into a restaurant in Chicago. Loved their food and home cut fries. I will be a regular here for sure when I visit IU from now on.

Great place to grab a bite, drink a couple of beers and watch a game. 2nd time coming here. Service was good both times. Good selection on draft. Dirty Tots are a must! Really cool asthetics to Fat Dan's as well.

I stopped in yesterday as I was passing through and ordered the French Dip.
Worst sandwich I've ever had.
It was so bad that I contemplated
calling the police and pressing charges.
Instead of serving it on crispy bread and you dip each bite, they dip the entire sandwich and serve you this disgusting soggy, terribly messy sandwich. I took one bite and was really turned off by all of the herbs. A French Dip shouldn't taste like herbs, it's should be crispy not soggy.
I took on bite and left, I might as well have flushed that $12 down the toilet.
The staff was nice, but my server knew I hated the sandwich and couldn't eat it but she made no effort to make it right.

Amazing sandwiches! Had the East Coast Submarine. (Italian sub) packed full of meat and cheese. Fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Delicious! Didn't eat in, but like a typical college bar pub inside. Nice staff.

Five stars! Fat Dan's Deli in Bloomington is a must-visit. The beer selection is fantastic, and KJ went above and beyond by bringing us a round of samples to make sure we found something we loved. The grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo was perfectly made, and while I wish I could have subbed the chips, it was totally worth it. The smoked wings were also top-notch. If you're looking for great food and excellent service, I highly recommend Fat Dan's!
