The best authentic New York bagels in the Mid-West, possibly the US! Served warm, and they just melt in your mouth. I bring them up to Indy from Bloomington, and I'm super excited with the news Ed is opening a location in Zionsville, where I now live. ❤️

I recently had a frustrating experience as a DoorDash delivery driver at this location. I had to endure an excessively long wait, and when I finally received the food, it was cold. It was evident that no one was announcing the DoorDash orders, even with multiple drivers present waiting for their pickups. This situation is incredibly unacceptable, as we are evaluated based on our delivery times and the expectation of delivering hot food to customers. The individual taking orders seemed more focused on socializing and entertaining customers rather than efficiently managing the line and ensuring that employees were attending to customer orders promptly. This lack of attention to operational efficiency is detrimental not only to delivery drivers but ultimately to the customers as well.

They canceled my order for no reason. No one answered the phone.

Great bagels, not enough cream cheese. The 2 things a bagel shop must have are good bagels and good cream cheese. Unfortunately there was a lack of cream cheese on all my friend’s bagels. This is not the first time this has been an issue.

Normally this place would get a 4 or 5 star just for the general friendliness. The bagels are on point - there’s a reason why this is the go-to bagel spot in bloom and it’s not because it’s the only bagel spot in Bloomington if you catch my drift.
My bagel order always takes a little longer than usual but today was terrible. I sat there for about 30min total. Once I a saw a queue of about 6 or 7 people who ordered AFTER me I asked about my order and was told it’s being wrapped up. 10-15 min later I ask a second time and finally I receive my $15 bagel - whole thing is cold and room temp.
I can understand busy rush and all but after I’ve already patiently waited longer than I needed to before politely asking about it, making me wait another 10-15min on top to hand me a room temp bagel… that’s diabolical.
for best experience avoid on rush days i guess.

Just. Amazing. The brisket is a must try! This is my happy place :-)
A great New York bagel in the middle of Indiana. Got there pretty early around 8:15 AM and the place was already buzzing. I kept my order simple and got a classic bagel with lox, it was ready before I paid. It has the feel of a New York deli but there is limited seating. So if you want to eat there you might have some difficulty. I got a coffee to go with my bagel because the sun rises in the East and the coffee was fine, could have been a bit hotter. The bagel though was doughy but not too much and the cream cheese kind of stole the show. Just the right amount and great creaminess to it. If you need a quick breakfast don’t miss out on Gables Bagels. Note the owner, if he is in is VERY NEW YORK, which is fun and entertaining but if you want quiet maybe take your order on the go.

I love Gables Bagels and whenever I'm there, the staff is always friendly and helpful. However, on multiple occasions I've received the wrong bagel or an incorrect order. Today, someone took our order and we were given theirs. They offered to remake it, but the remake was wrong. After waiting a while, I was pretty hungry. We weren't offered any coupons or a refund, but I don't care, I just wanted my bagel made right.

Received extremely negative service at the door (literally turned away) with mediocre food that could’ve been crafted at a better price and quality at home. Reviews are severely overrated. Disappointed.

They have delicious bagels and food. They also sell their schmears. My favorite is the chive schmear with the bagel chips. The brisket bagel is my favorite. I get it every time I go. I go in the morning after work. I’ve even invited some of my coworkers to come with me because they seen my bagels posted on my Snapchat and Facebook. 10/10 I highly recommend

The bagels and schmear? Absolutely delicious. Perfectly prepared. And/but what captivates me the most, and motivates me to write a review, is the staff - and specifically, the owner, Ed. In these times of disconnect, it can change a day, a mood, an entire life to have even one minute of true, dedicated connection with someone. Ed is the kind of person to provide just that. My entire day has changed because of a filling breakfast and an even more fulfilling dose of Ed's energy. Well worth the stop-in, whatever nourishment you get.
