More than required cooked breads with 1 day old wheat flour. Almost all the curries have same gravy. Vegetarian try at their own risk as I find bone piece in Veg curry.

TBH thought the food was pretty good but got food poisoning from it. Another review from 2 months ago said they also got food poisoning. They’re likely leaving rice in rice cookers for too long causing bacteria growth.
This is one of the worst restaurant in Bloomington. I ordered food to go, and the person at the counter had no idea how to treat customers. He was extremely rude to everyone and barely understood what we were saying. They made us wait for more than 30 minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes, I asked how much longer it would take, and he told me I could leave the store if I wanted—using abusive words in Hindi. This behavior was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I don’t understand how someone like that can interact with customers. Please don’t visit this place unless you want to deal with this kind of experience.

Picked up a to-go order of saag paneer, garlic naan, and a mango lassi for just over $20. It fed two people. We agreed the saag was actually spicy as requested, and was delicious. I can’t believe I haven’t eaten here as often as Amrit or Taste, but it’ll be in the rotation more often.

The interior is a downer, but the food compensates. We were the only ones dining in. Goat curry was good. Chicken curry was good too but a little sweet for our taste.

I order online from this restaurant for pickup when I came to pick the order and the guy on counter is very rude have no sense to how deal with customer nd this is not first time nd because of this guy I will never come to this restaurant nd never recommend any one about this restaurant
Serves spoiled food. The mango lassi stunk so bad and had HUGE chunks in it. There’s no way they didn’t know it was bad. I threw it out and it stunk up my kitchen so bad I had to go take the trash out.
We also got vegetable biryani with raita. Well… the raita was spoiled too, but we didn’t find out until we dumped it all over the biryani.

I ordered my food online through their website, and this was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a restaurant. I called to ask what time I’d be getting my order, and the first two times I was literally hung up on while trying to figure out what was going on with my food. One guy told me to come pick it up, even though I already paid for delivery. When I explained that, he just hung up on me.
I called back a third time, hoping to talk to someone more professional since the first person clearly couldn’t handle a basic conversation. Big mistake. The second guy said they were busy—which I understand—but then started yelling at me, cutting me off, and being extremely rude for no reason.
I waited over an hour, past dinner time, just to be hung up on twice and then yelled at. At that point it wasn’t even worth it, so I canceled my order. I get that food service can be stressful, but that doesn’t excuse this level of disrespect. Completely unacceptable experience.
I highly do not recommend this place.

I came for the food pickup , after the order , I have been waiting in the lobby , I’m okay wait here , but the person who is working here , he is arguing with me that you ordered now and came here , but I told him that I’m okay to wait , even though he is arguing with me , why you came early like that , this is not good to treat a customer like this , He is saying you have to wait in the car , what’s this ???
I thought it was really good! You might not expect it from the outside, but the interior of the restaurant is pretty classy I was there for dinner on a weeknight, and while there were a few takeout/delivery orders that came through, I was the only dine-in customer, and the man who served me was extremely courteous.
I ordered their vegetable malai kofta, plain naan, and Indian tea. I’m pretty sure what I was kadhi kofta instead of malai kofta; the gravy tasted like tangy savoury kadhi rather than creamy malai gravy. I’m not upset about the mistake because this is actually what I would’ve ordered, but I didn’t see it on the paper menu. Anyway, the dish was very flavourful and the medium hot was actually medium hot - no watered down spice level here! Good naan, soft and charred in the right places. The food was reasonably priced and portioned generously. Cumin rice was included with the entree.
The Indian tea (chai) was strong, and I felt like the tea itself was actually of good quality, but it was served sweetened and it was too sweet for me. I prefer chai unsweetened but don't mind some tasteful sweetness, but theirs was really strong. It was also pretty small, almost cutting chai size, and didn't come out until I was almost done eating. The tea wasn't expensive, but not so inexpensive that I was expecting it to be so small.
Definitely would visit again. The hours are a little weird - they open at 2:30 pm, but close at 1:30 or 2:30 am most nights. It would be nice if they were open at normal lunch time, but on the bright side, they’re open during the mid-afternoon window when most restaurants close between lunch and dinner, they stay open late when most everything else still open is fast food.

I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Paneer Naan, and a Mango Lassi, everything was just perfect. The curry was super flavorful and creamy, the naan was soft and delicious, and the mango lassi was refreshing and tasty.
The staff were really friendly and the whole vibe of the place was nice and welcoming. If you love Indian food (or even if you’re trying it for the first time), you have to come here! Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in Bloomington, IN.

You there. Yes, I’m talking to you. It’s midnight and you are craving Indian food. You have two options, either go to India Garden or go hungry. Having been in this scenario, I would rather go hungry.
To put it eloquently, I’m 100% certain that the average meal at McNutt on Sunday would be hailed as a masterclass in cooking compared to the abysmal garbage that was served to me.
This restaurant deserves to go on Kitchen Nightmares, and get roasted by Gordon himself. In truth, I doubt Gordon could save this horrendous building that disguises as a restaurant.
DO NOT EAT HERE. GO HUNGRY. Wait a day and eat as taste of India instead.
