You there. Yes, I’m talking to you. It’s midnight and you are craving Indian food. You have two options, either go to India Garden or go hungry. Having been in this scenario, I would rather go hungry.

To put it eloquently, I’m 100% certain that the average meal at McNutt on Sunday would be hailed as a masterclass in cooking compared to the abysmal garbage that was served to me.

This restaurant deserves to go on Kitchen Nightmares, and get roasted by Gordon himself. In truth, I doubt Gordon could save this horrendous building that disguises as a restaurant.

DO NOT EAT HERE. GO HUNGRY. Wait a day and eat as taste of India instead.

I recently ordered Butter Chicken and Butter Naan, and it was absolutely delicious! The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and full of flavor — perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. The butter naan was soft, warm, and went so well with the curry. The portion size was generous, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. I’ll definitely be ordering from here again. Highly recommend it to anyone craving real Indian flavors🤍

Absolutely fantastic experience at Indian Garden in Bloomington!

I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer, and both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were rich, balanced, and authentic—exactly the kind of comfort food you want when you’re craving good Indian cuisine. The paneer was perfectly cooked—soft, fresh, and soaked in the delicious gravies that were full of depth and spice without being overpowering.

What makes this place even more special is that it’s run by a hardworking father and son duo. You can really feel the care and pride they put into every dish and every interaction. They made me feel welcome the moment I walked in, and it’s clear they’re committed not just to great food but to creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

Bloomington is lucky to have a place like this. If you’re looking for flavorful, authentic Indian food with a personal touch, Indian Garden is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

2025 update:
The restaurant has really gone downhill. The order was wrong, everyone working there was messy and had food on their shirts, looked extremely sleep deprived, the food made me icky. The atmosphere was very weird. I used to work in this building and I know that about 80-90% of the space is now off limits to the guests, which is very very weird to me just how much stuff must be getting stored in the restaurant (maybe people live there or something?). I didn't enjoy my meal and it was pretty $$$. I suggest Taste of India instead.

4 years ago:
Half of the dishes were alright, but my vindaloo had a lot of cilantro (coriander) in it which completely ruined the taste of it. I can only taste the bad aldehydes in cilantro and they taste like soap to me. I was hoping for more of a BIR curry base sauce without cilantro.

It was also very weird paying for the food. There was a mystery 3.99 charge on the bill and attempting to use a coupon resulted in haggling. I had no issues with the price or price after the coupon, it was just weird. If you don't like cilantro, the tikka masala sauce seemed to not have any.

I was going through a debilitating sickness, the worst EVER SEEN, woke up at 1am, and INDIA GARDEN was able to cook, and deliver, my order! I will be back, to the “HOTTEST” restaurant in Bloomington, maybe even all of Indiana, to consume more lamb biryanis at maximum spiciness! Thank you for your attention to this matter- KIB

I’m sorry to say because the service was real good but the food was disappointing. I ordered lentils soup very basic. Taste like hot boil water with a little hot spice. Not what I’m used to have in Indian restaurants. The Chana masala was okay if you never had this dish before.

If it was possible to give 0 stars to this restaurant, I definitely would. Everything in this restaurant is the worst. Definitely would not recommend this place. It took 30 minutes for them to come and take our order. The bathrooms are also horrendously disgusting.frozen food is better than food here
