Overrated. Steak is steak. a bit tough really. too hot in dining room. your in bloomington. it's a casual setting. have a ton of tvs with sports on for gosh sake. staff was very nice but dinner was slow.

It's been decades since I've been to this Bloomington gem. I'm happy to report it has hardly changed. Still the no nonsense, reasonably priced steakhouse i remember. I've been so disappointed with the few high-end steakhouses I've been to recently. It's refreshing to go to one where i can get a properly cooked and seasoned steak at a reasonable price. If you're not familiar with Janko's, know that this is not a white-glove establishment. Even though the plastic tablecloths are gone, this is still a casual, no frills, crowded, boisterous, but most importantly delicious restaurant. if you know that going in, you won't be disappointed.
Dinner salad is so good, ranch is fantastic. Steak made perfectly. It's loud but it's fun.

The food was perfect. I had the kabab and others in the party had ribeye and large filet. All prepared perfectly. The buns were grilled and tasty. Nice wine selection with generous tastes prior to final selection.
The dining area is soooo dark and I typically like a cozy atmosphere yet it was hard to see the menu. The booth I was in had a loose back and any time we moved or the people behind us moved, it was uncomfortable for both parties.
The wait staff friendly and genuine.
